I am having this dilemma, although it seems more difficult for my wedding party/guests than for me. I have no problem putting a pair of flip flops for the beach part and then putting on sandals for the reception which will be held on the deck.

For some reason though, people are having issues with not wearing formal shoes to the wedding. I keep reminding them that it cannot possibly be comfortable to wear formal shoes to the beach, once the sand gets there, it is quite uncomfortable. For some reason some people are having trouble choosing different footwear. I don't mind if people wear sandals or flip flops, as long as there are no ugly toes or anything haha.

MANBY - women's evening sandals for sale at ALDO Shoes.

Just to fill you ladies in. These sandles are VERY comfortable (not the kind you have to curl your toes to keep on!) and have good grip on the bottom which will be great for around the resort on tile.
These are PERFECT! My dress won't need to be hemmed if I have just a little bit of a heel and I think that this wedge would even work in the sand. PLUS, they are adorable.
I noticed that they are only full sizes...would you recommend ordering up or down a size? (I'm an 8.5)

I too love those Juicy sandals but I read a review on a website that said the starfish leaves black marks on the white leather! Anyone have that experience?

I will keep looking, but just in case I got some ivory metallic looking flip flops from Old Navy for the ceremony ($2.50) and sexy strappy silver Manolo heels for my terrace reception since I have a tea length reception dress and people will be able to see my feet then :)

I would go a size up (9). I normally wear a size 8 shoe and the 8 in this style is the perfect length...any shorter and I would need the next size up!

Love the Manolo heels idea!

I'm also debating... but honestly I can't picture myself without heels.

We haven't picked out the details for our ceremony yet, gazebo or beach, but I already found my dress! I'm liking the gazebo better but my fiance prefers the beach. Either way, I'd like to wear heels to my reception. I can always get a pair of 2" heels and it won't make much difference to the length of my dress, right?

I'm in the same boat. I say, go for the heels you love for the reception and then you can always find a pair of wedge or platform flip flops for the ceremony if the length of your dress is an issue. You can also wear your pretty heels for pictures!

Me too, I just can't see myself in a small wedge for my wedding - I love heels! I may do just that, get heels for the ceremony (gazebo) and then some sort of wedge in case I need it

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
