Even my step brothers who stayed at Iberostar said Secrets looked nicer. Iberostar actually (and I am not kidding) had a drug house "shack" on the beach next to the resort. Classy! If you have any questions, please let me know.

I am thinking about going to Secrets for my honeymoon. I have kids for my wedding!!!

Yes. I plan to keep my wedding simple! I mean you are already in Jamaica!

I'm on the flight right now heading home from my wedding and I can tell you that lugging all my decor down was a pain (although worth it financially) and at the end of the day nobody is going to remember my decor and the man in a speedo helped steal the show when he decided to stand behind us crying! Don't stress the small stuff...the scenery will be so beautiful and the simple petals will have an impact!

OMG!!! Not the crying man in speedos!

This thread has been so helpful beyond words I cannot describe it! I am tearing up thinking of the wonderful memories we will be creating with our family and friends. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences!

I have a question - what are you doing (or what did you do) about sleeping arrangements with your fiance the night before the wedding? I want to keep it traditional and sleep apart and not see each other until I walk down the aisle, but the hotel cannot offer us separate rooms the night before. So one of us would have to go sleep somewhere else. My fiance doesn't think this is a big deal (to sleep together and see each other) but I kind of do. But at the same time I feel bad asking my fiance to sleep elsewhere as we both want to be comfortable and get a good nights sleep. Thoughts/suggestions/comments?

Thanks ladies!

Jackie

Do you have any girlfriends or bridesmaids you could have share a room with you the night before? Maybe they traveled there alone, or they have a room with two beds and your groom is friends with their husband/partner? Your groom could swap rooms and stay in their room instead?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
