We've tried to book a few places through our wc but she keeps coming back saying "fully booked". We've only got 13 guests coming with us and am now wondering what to do, didn't really want to pay for the wedding dinner but it's now looking like we'll have to. Any ideas most welcome

Sorry i've only just seen this!

we have changed from El Caribeno now, because we went for the Brazilian (accreficles?) as we could have a semi private area on the terrace, that swung it for us!

but at El Caribeno we had 30 people and they said it was fine. no extra cost, but we did haev to choose a menu, people couldn't just order once they got there. but that's no big deal i guess!

Soo disappointed now.. I was originally planning to have my rehearsal dinner at MoMoNoHaha. WC says due to the number of guests coming, they cannot reserve more than 10 people at Los Corporales, MoMoNoHaHa or El Caribeno. I have to pick between El Manglar, Bugambilias or La Gondola. Any suggestions between the three?

Is Arrecifes not available? A lot of people like that one. I know they can handle more than 10 & you get a private terrace there. I was really hoping to have mine at El Caribeno, and my WC told me the reason I couldn't have it there was that it was booked. I'm using the dinner reservation for my welcome dinner, so I've offered to push back the welcome dinner one night (when a few more guests will be there anyway) so I can have it El Caribeno, but I haven't gotten a response yet. Woodsylou mentioned in her last post that she had planned to have her dinner (with more than 10 people) at El Caribeno, so there seems to be conflicting information coming from the WCs. I know we'd have to break into a few tables at El Caribeno, but I'd be willing to do that, but my WC hasn't gotten back to me in the last week or so to let me know if that's an option. Of the choices you have, I think I would choose Bugambilias.

I had mine at Los Corporales with about 17 to 18 people. You can get it if you are persistant!! I was told no at first too.

Hmm.. Only thing is, I have 35-40 people coming! I'm at the point wherein, I really do not care about the food. I just want a place where me and my guests could actually mingle without worrying about noise and stuff...

Yikes, that may be a bit much. I didn't invite everyone to the rehearsal dinner. Only parents and siblings.

I know... I was going to make it like a welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner. And they did say that included in the package was dinner reservation for 35 guests in a restaurant of our choice.
Anybody ever been to La Gondola or Bugambilias? I just need a place that is not too loud or too noisy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
