DJ Mannia Nov 7 2009 Review

Recommended Posts

We hired Carlos from DJ Mannia for our November 7 Wedding at Grand Palladium Punta Cana.

I think we were one of the first couples to use DJ Mannia's services in the Dominican Republic so I just wanted to post a little review for future brides.

Carlos was great to work with and was always quick to respond to any questions via email before the wedding.

Once we arrived in Punta Cana, Carlos met with us at the hotel to discuss details. We were still unsure whether we were going to have a private reception or a beach party and Carlos was very patient and understanding. He was willing to set up wherever we decided and just told us to let him know once we decided.

We had sent Carlos a list of songs we wanted to be played during dinner and for the dance as well as special songs such as first dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss ect. He came prepared with all of these songs downloaded and even had his IPOD during our meeting so we could listen to our first dance song to make sure it was the right one. He also wrote down the names of the whole bridal party and order in which they would be entering the reception so that he could introduce us all as we did not have an MC.

We ended up doing a private reception and when we arrived Carlos was all set up an ready to go. He had contacted the wedding coordinator in order to find out exactly where and when he should set up. He did a great job of introducing us when we entered the restaurant as well as played everything off the list that we sent him. I had requested that in addition to the song list we gave him, if he could take requests from our guests and he was very happy to do that as well. During the reception he did a great job of communicating with my husband and I as to when to announce the first dance, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss and he even suprised us with balloons about halfway through the dance that everyone had a great time with! We would highly reccommend Carlos from DJ Mannia to all future brides who are getting married in Punta Cana! We were extremely pleased with his services.

We had Carlos at our Nov 27th wedding at Excellence in Punta Cana....he was awesome. We literally did not stop dancing the second we hit the floor. The music was soooo good. People couldn't believe how good he was and we all live in Boston and go to clubs regularly. We gave him a little direction on music and everything he played was right on. We did give him the songs we wanted for the introductions, cake, 1st/last dance. I loved that he set up lights on the dance floor. They also handed out the balloons clowns use and people had a blast making head pieces out of these. They also handed out the glow braceletts I had brought down with me...that was fun too. I 110% recommend DJ Mannia.

DJ Mannia is doing my wedding in March so this makes me very excited!

I am a little overwhelmed with the thought of picking music for the wedding. Obviously I am going to do the important stuff like entrance, first dance, cake cutting, but is Carlos pretty good about playing the popular music for weddings or do you think it is necessary to send a list of songs I want?

You absolutely do not need to send him a list of songs. We told him to play top 40 like beyonce, lady gaga, black eyed peas. Some hip hop. Benny told him some merengue/salsa and it was PERFECT. We all go to clubs here in Boston so we are critical of DJ's and everyone raved about how good the music was.

The funny thing was Carlos was the last vendor we met with so we were tired of meetings and wanted to get to the beach. We literally spent 15 minutes with him. He did a phenomenal job.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
