A way to a womans' heart...the best proposal EVER!!!!

Recommended Posts

Just to give you some background information on my story I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage. Her and I have been on our own since she was 18 months.

The day I was proposed to, my Fiance Chris had asked my daughter upstairs. I was cleaning the kitchen & didnâ€t think much of it since it was close to Christmas, so I assumed he was showing her what “they bought meâ€.

He asked her to sit down and asked her if she thought it was OK if he asked mommy to marry him. She answered “yes, thatâ€s okâ€. “Are you sure?†asked Chris “YUP†she replied. He then asked her “what do I need then If I want to ask mommyâ€, Mia answered “a ringâ€. Chris then pulled out a little silver box and handed it to her. When she opened it, she was a little confused as the ring size was small. Chris looked at her and told Mia that he had bought her a ring too. Mia put it on automatically (on her ring finger no less) and gave him a big hug...so excited and in love with her new ring. She then asked “How about mommy?â€. Chris then pulled out my ring for Mia to see. “Oh sheâ€s going to love itâ€.....she told him. He then asked “Could you bring the ring down to Mommy and ask her if sheâ€ll marry me?â€. Mia was soooooo excited that she said “yes†and ran downstairs.

She walked into the Kitchen and said “Mom, Chris wants to marry youâ€...I looked at her very confused and caught off guard. I said “what are you talking about?†She answered....â€he asked me and I said it was ok, so..do you want to marry him?†and then opened my ring box...I then realized that this was the real thing and began looking around for Chris who I found down on one knee outside of the kitchen.

It takes a special man to think of involving the most precious person my life in the sweetest proposal ever. Mia and I both wear our rings that Chris bought us...mine representing the engagement, and Miaâ€s representing the commitment Chris has made to her.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
