We used our iPod to play the music and (thankfully!) my uncle attended the wedding who used to MC/DJ professionally so he took over. It definitely made the night more enjoyable.

They sat 8 people at each table with one sitting 9. I made all of our bouquets but one came with the Sand extravaganza package. The one I picked fit with the rest that I made so we used it as a toss bouquet.

I don't know to be honest. Like I said above, the tables sit 8/9 people. I asked my husband and he thinks it would fit 50. Send a quick email to Yinette and ask would be my advice.

Thanks for all the helpful info. One more question... where did you purchase the candle holders?

Emives - one question about HDC. What package did you go with? I'm considering the Royal package, which is just 3 hours coverage....but I don't want much of that to be used up on me getting ready. I would rather just have most of the 3 hours be focused on the ceremony, coctail hour, photo session after, and maybe a bit of the reception.

I got them at a bed/bath/home store called Jysk. Not sure if you have one where you are. They were $1.25/ea!

Originally we had them for 5 hours (Platinum Package). From 2-7. Our ceremony was at 2 and the dinner was at 7. So we were not going to have pictures of us getting ready, first dance, etc. But we added 4 hours on (at $150/hr!!!!) so in total that day we had 9hours and I was SO glad we did. We also did the TTD. In total we spent $1900. But pictures were really, really important to me and I am so happy with the outcome.

Hello Ladies!

So - we've had our date held with the hotel for the past few weeks, and we were waiting to put our deposit in until we had travel booked. I sent the deposit in yesterday, and received our official confirmation today! yay! I know Ada said that our date was held anyways, but something about having an actual document with everything written out, makes me breathe easier :)

Anyhow - She also sent me the "additional services" (extra decor, flowers, sound system, etc.) for 2013. The prices for most things have went up a little from the 2012 pricing I received a few months ago, but Ada did tell me that the additional services were subject to change for 2013. One thing I do like though, is many of the extras now include taxes with the price listed, which makes it a little more clear when budgeting.

I figured some of you may want this new pricing so if you PM me your email addresses I will forward it on to you.

I'll attach it here as well, for those of you who can open attachments.

Happy Planning!

Alicia

Emives~ did you regret not getting flowers for you and your bridesmaids? I'm making my own brooch bouquet and Button Bouquets and Boutonnieres for the guys. When I look at other peoples pictures I keep thinking "oh the flower bouquets are so pretty". But they are so expensive. And another reason why I'm doing my own bouquets is so they will have something to carry for the AHR.

Hello Fellow Ocean Blue Ladies!

Do any of you need some vistaprint promo emails? They are Canadian, but might work for the US as well. I just received a fantastic one today, with a ton of free items (25 I think).

The freebies include 100 postcards, 50 oversized postcards (great for save the dates!), rubber stamp, hat, mug, tote bag, notebook, sticky note, letterhead, banner, poster, lawn signs, business cards, return address labels, magnets (save the date magnets!), mousepad, keychain, 1 sheet of stickers....

Just let me know if you are interested, and PM me your email address - I can forward it on to you.

Hi Ladies

We've booked out package with the TA and I've just received a confirmation from Ada that our wedding is confirmed for January 24, 2013

I'm  on cloud 9 right now.

We had our engagement pictures done this past January by the in house photographer and I have to say I found it costly.  I've reviewed  the cost for the wedding day pictures and i do find the price high for the number of pictures.  Can anyone reccomend other options?

thanks

Jannet

Hi Janet,

Congrats on getting your date! I bet you are on cloud nine - it's such a relief to have your date comfirmed and travel booked :)

I agree that the resort photographer seems very pricey. Some great, and reasonably priced photographers that lots of brides on here have used, are Caribbean Emotions, and HDC photography. They both have a range of packages, and both offer a package that is media only which is very reasonable and you get all of your edited pics on CD (about 500). You will find tons of reviews for both on this site. You can also find Caribbean Emotions on facebook, and likely HDC as well.

There are lots of brides giving their reviews, and sharing pictures on the Ocean Blue/Sands Beach and Golf Resort Brides. If you type that into the search bar, it should come up for you.

I just booked Caribbean Emotions yesterday!

Happy Planning :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
