We had the Sand Extravaganza and yes, it is an open bar for the cocktail hour. The regular stuff though - not the premium brands.

Yup, that's right.

And for what it is worth - I booked my wedding a year in advance and booked the La Brasa Terrace for the reception because it's beachfront and I wanted to make sure I had it. Otherwise it is by the pool (if you have more than 50 guests, I believe) or La Tortuga (which is the indoors buffet). Yinette didn't give me any trouble when I asked for La Brasa that far in advance.

Great to know! Thanks for the info!

I'm going to inquire to Ada/Yinette about La Brasa :)

How did you find it as far as heat/humidity in the evening for dinner/reception?

Hey Ladies,

Anyone know if the Sand Extravaganza package includes plate/cutlery set up and table cloths.....or is it extra?? I saw in the extras pdf table covers, overlays and runners have a separate price.....does the package include basic set up and these options are their upgraded options?? Thanks

Just a heads up.. My wedding is four months away and I have only received five emails from the WC... Believe me I am freaking out. But as a dominican myself I know how the country works and things always get done some how.

What email address do you use? Do you communicate with Ada or Yinette?

I've emailed Ada about 5 or 6 times over the past 4 weeks and always get a reply the same day.

Hang in there! You must be getting very excited for your big day :)

Hello Dominican Ally,

Yes, I am super excited I just can't wait any longer.  It does drive me crazy that I have to wait a whole week to move on with a decision. I have Yinette email. Can you please send me Ada email. I didn't know their were two WC.

By the way what photographer and florist are you using? You are probably way ahead of me in planning. I started planning in January.

Thank you so much for your help ..

    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
