I already asked Yinette and she said she didn't know, but I am sure she can find out for us!

I think what you bought Alicia will be enough, my fiancee is a carpenter LOL and I asked him and showed him the picture, if you wanna be on the safe side order another bolt. Other then that I think it will look great!!!!!!!!

I am having my flowers made and bringing them down with me and asked my florist to make 2 big flowers for me for the sides of the gazebo, I am not sure on the cost yet so it may be about what the resort has quoted me.

$378.00 for the draping = 2 flowers for the posts and one for the signing table. So if that is $150.00 for just the draping then the 3 other flowers are $228.00 which sounds about right because the one that saw were really big!

I was also thinking of just ordering extra table runners and draping them with the gazebo to add some colour. But I think I like the white.. not sure yet :S

I haven't actually asked for measurements - it looks like a ton of brides on the facebook group have been discussing this as well, so I've sort of been waiting to see if anyone comes up with an answer...lol. I will ask though, in my next email to the resort :)

I think I am just going to drape the front, unless, of course I end up with leftover fabric. I think for pictures, etc. - just doing the front would give the desired "effect"....and I don't want to spend any more/pack any more than I have to. I really just can't justify spending 150 for draping.....and I don't need the whole 380 dollar decor package since I already have the sand ext. package (which comes with the ceremony table flowers, and chair covers).

I have taken a huge break from planning - but now that I have approx numbers (49) I've started ordering all that I am able to order right now.....already feeling stressed! lol

Glad it made you smile! I took a break for a few months as well (while we were waiting for the 90 day deposit deadline). I've now suddenly had a freakout that there are 10 months left, and I have too many DIY projects to get done....lol. Since I now know how many ppl. we are having (at least approx.) I've sort of went on a spree of ordering things. Tonight - I think it will be the lanyard/card holders for my OOT bags! The bubba kegs arrived at my gf's house already, and my fabric/runners/chair sashes/lanterns should be here on Friday! Yahoo!

Agreed that the resort decor upgrades are far too pricey. I truly feel that the basic white draping on the gazebo should be included!

And remember how much I'm slacking on my planning. Such a good idea to buy this stuff yourself since the resort packages are a bit pricey.

Decisions, decisions, eh?!

I think for the gazebo I def. like the white - but will likely see what some turquoise/aqua bows look like to tie back the fabric. I think we should honestly protest and demand the white draping be included! lol

I agree that what I have should be enough for the front two sections :) If not - guess I'll suck it up and pay the 150...gulp! lol

So I got the dimensions from Ada, but I don't quite understand. Here's what she said...

Here are the gazebo dimensions

330 c,m de largo  x 230 ancho x 270 alt .

330 cm long x 230 wide?? not sure what 270 alt?? is 330 the height?

Ok....so "altura" is height.....so I'm assuming that the 270 is the height given her description........maybe 330 is the depth.....and 230 is the width.......

I'm so confused! lol

However.......I have these pictures of the gazebo.....which makes it look "wider" than it is "deep"..........so to me, looking at it - seems that 330 is the width across the front...230 is the depth from front to back....and 270 is the height. Check out the pics and let me know what you think. My aunt and Uncle took them for me when they were down in Punta Cana in February.....

LOL seriously with the people lying under it! I like the other pictures better! haha

Yeah, I'm just taking a planning break because we still haven't booked (waiting on a few more airlines to release their flights) and I have NO idea how many people we have because people just ignored the prelim RSVP on my STDs. Oh well- will probably sending invites out earlier now and then I can get myself busy. Next step for me will be dress shopping but I'm trying to lose a few more pounds first. And my MOH wants to do some hair and makeup trials while it's hot and humid here!

I know, eh?! I didn't realize they left it out on the beach all the time, and that people layed under it when there weren't weddings going on. My Aunt and Uncle said the people under it wouldn't move so they could get me a picture.....oh well! lol.

I would like to take a planning break - but I'm currently going OOT bag crazy....lol. I went to the dollar stores, but didn't see anything I really liked......I was like you though - until I had solid numbers - I really felt like I couldn't do anything anyways.

What do you ladies think of these to use as my OOT bags - I think it's an awesome price on efavormart...by the way it is my new fav. site and think I will order most things wedding from here if possible....

http://www.efavormart.com/reusableshoppingbag-turquoise.aspx

I've ordered the key card holders/lanyards off of ebay, as well as batteries/led lights to make your own DIY lights for paper lanterns that are wireless.......a much cheaper option than the LED lights they sell on the paper lantern sites. I'll let you know how it works when I get them - but I think it will work out great! I received my chair sashes/table runners/drapping and paper lanterns from efavormart last week - and I'm so excited! Now, I just need to sort out if I actually need enough chair sashes for the ceremony AND reception - since someone on the fb group was saying they wouldn't move the chairs from the ceremony...while some people have said they will. It seems different people get different answers depending on the day....lol.

I've also been making barefoot sandals....which is time consuming, but I'm going to see how many I can get made by the wedding (9.5 months)....ideally I'd like to give one pair to each lady coming to Punta Cana to wear on the beach :) With 28 women coming though, that could take me a while!

Hope planning is going well for all of you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
