Has anybody used or heard things about RS entertainment? I've heard so many good things about dj Mannia but their prices are much higher and the resort pushes for using the dj affiliated with them but their website isn't the greatest.  Anyone heard anything? Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey ladies!! It's been a while since I have been on here. So much has been going on! We have had a few deaths in the family and between work and finishing school this semester I am TOAST! LOL. I have not done a thing with the wedding in the past month and a half so I am ready to get in gear now.

My dress is finally in! YAY! Just have to go on an extreme diet before the fitting, with all of the things I have had to deal with these past 2 months, my weight gain is just disgusting... :-(

How is everyone doing??

I am so sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with Transat...I hope both of you can get it settled and wishing you less stress! I cannot imagine going through that.

My group still has until October to book but I am sending the final invites out in a few weeks with a September date so I can buy more for my OT bags. But I think booking here in the U.S. is different than in Canada.

TTYS girls!

Hey Ladies!

I think the Transat thing is sorted out - to some extent. I'm still not happy that everyone isn't arriving on the same day....but we at least have it so that nobody is going to miss the wedding now - which was most important!

I am super duper excited tonight - because I just ordered my bubba kegs from www.shopbubba.com - 51 of them in total! Yikes! They worked out to about 6.80 each with the discount for bulk orders.....a bit more than I was going to spend on mugs for the OOT bags - but they will be our one and only "big" item - so I think they will be awesome!

I also just ordered 65 chair sashes (wanted extras just in case) and 10 table runners in turquoise, and 12 white/12 turquoise paper lanterns, and one 58inch/10 yard bolt of organza in white (to drape the gazebo) from efavormart. The whole order from them, including shipping was only $138.00....which I thought was pretty good!

I was wondering if any of the ladies coming up in the days/weeks after me could use the white organza draping or the turquoise items afterwards? If so - we could work something out and I could leave them down there. We are there until the 20th, and I'm sure even for anyone having a wedding after that - I could leave the stuff with a note with Ada or Yinette. I just can't fathom spending the money they want to rent the sashes/runners in my colour........or ESPECIALLY the $150.00 they want for the "draping" on the beach gazebo.....so crazy! I would just leave the draping down there for anyone who wants it....and the sashes/runners I would sell for a discounted rate. Just throwing it out there - as I've seen other brides on other hotel threads doing this, and thought it was a good idea!

Ntlsnow - I'm sooo sorry to hear about your losses. It's definatley hard not to gain a few pounds when you have such stressful things going on. Hang in there! I am currently working on losing a bunch of weight before I order my dress. I only have a few more months, and then I'll have to suck it up and order one - then take it in if I lose more :)

Hope everyone's planning is going well! I'm soooooo excited to start ordering things! (I know, I've already said this...lol)

Hi Alicia!  I'm glad everything is sorted out and everyone will be there for the wedding!  If you don't mind, I could definitely use the organza and possibly the lanterns.  I'll know more as we get closer.

We went with some cups from Dollar Tree.  It would have been nice to get the bubba kegs, but my FI didn't want to spend that much on them.  the ones we got are pretty decent though: http://www.dollartree.com/kitchen-tableware/drinkware/Drinkware/Jumbo-Plastic-Water-Bottles-with-Straws-35-oz-/213c264c377p310001/index.pro .  It's the Bath & Body Works semi-annual sale, so I'll be ordering a bunch of stuff for the OOT bags tomorrow (payday lol).

Ntlsnow- I'm really sorry for your losses.  Just hang in there- everything will work out with the dress.  I bought my dress already and, while it fit, I had some back fat and under-arm fat issues going on.  Since then I've lost 12 pounds, so I'm hoping that takes care of it.  I'm doing Weight Watchers and love it- it's probably the healthiest way to go.

Hi Alicia,

WOW !! such a great idea for the chair sashes, table runners etc...

My colours are bright purple and coral and I everything the resort offers to rent is $$$$ and they don't have my colours. I was going to pay the $378.00 just for the reg white organza decor for the beach but now that you mentioned the website above, that is greaT!!! As of right now just renting from the resort I am at $584.00 for chair sashes, table overlay and the white oranganza on the beach gazebo... and then when I asked about renting the chair sashes from Yinette, she told me if I want them for the ceremony and reception they are 2 seperate rental fees.. WHAT!!?! that is insane..unless shes just trying to make and extra buck.LOL

For the bubba's are you bringing them all down with you or having it shipped down to the resort?????

I am getting married on April 15, so I will see you there!!!

Also I have some bad news... I have 47 people now booked.. and the hotel rooms are now sold out with Transat. I have 20 rooms and then we just upgraded to the honeymoon suite to free up our room and give to some one. I got the last honeymoon suite for when I am there, so thank god!!

I was going to just see about an upgrade when I was down their but as soon as I found out it was the last one I grabbed it. Transat said that maybe they will get more rooms but as of right now the Toronto inventory for my dates are sold out. Argh!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
