Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Maybe it varies, but we had a symbolic ceremony in February 2012, and we did not need a translator. (The minister was a bit tough to understand at times but he did speak English and we didn't need a translator.) Maybe something to confirm with Yinette or Ada?

I am having a symbolic wedding and I am not a fan of the translation but I watched some wedding videos on your tube from the wedding and it seemed ok.

I would love to get one of my friends to do it.. but I think they would turn it into a big joke and then lots of laughs hahaha...

We you married in Feb 2012? If so please let me know the details I would love to know how your day went?

Thanks

I have found so many great things on etsy.com! I am probably going to do all my bags through them.  I am including door "do not disturb" signs in them. When we were there in Feb we noticed that there weren't any on the doors and the maid would just let herself right in lol.

Hi,

Congrats to all the brides to be.. such an exciting time!!

I am a newbie and looking for some information...

I am trying to decide between Ocean Blue and Now Larimar for our wedding that is hopefully going to be April 2013.

If anyone can give me some info that would be great... I have 8 month old twins so my time in front of a computer searching is very limited :-)

I am looking for the 2013 prices at Ocean Blue, and wondering if anyone is doing the "free" wedding?

I am hoping to take advantage of that and then adding on a private meal/dance. I am not too worried about flowers, decorations, getting my hair done or any or those extras.. so the packages listed on their website doesn't appeal to me at all but I can not find any additional services that can be added.

Also, how far in advance did you book your wedding dates? I found my dress last week ( should have it in 5 months) .. got the twins dresses picked out...got hubby's ring ordered... but no wedding date set!! I know this is usually the first thing you do, but I am so backwards in everything I do.

Our day was great! The few snafus we had were really minor, otherwise it was perfect. I had a bit of a tough time letting go and just trusting that everything would come together but Yinette truly is a professional and knows what she's doing...all the loose ends came together and I couldn't have imagined a better day.

We have wedding pics at http://akburns.shutterfly.com/ . (The ones titled 'professional pics' are the ones actually from the wedding day; everything else is a mixed bag.)

Any other questions, just let me know - I'm happy to help!

The Ocean Blue offers a complimenrary wedding package.... Did you check out their website?

If you want a private meal/dance you will have to prob book the Sand Extr package... It was $2300.00. I have emailed you the additional services. But they are not showing on the website because I think you need to Book it with them first or atleast email the hotel directly and they send you all the options. I booked last week for my wedding on April 15, 2013. But I have been working with my agent ( sister) since March because the hotel and the tour operator didn't have the inventory I need / the price I wanted to pay. I had to get my date switched 3x... but that was my own personal issue as I was being picky with the wedding times and such.

Thanks ocean123,

Ya I looked on the site.. I don't want to pay 2300+ just to have the private meal when I am not sure how many guests I will have and I also don't want all the other extra the packages offers.

I am currently working with a Travel rep to get prices (should have them tomorrow or Monday) for both resorts.

I have emailed both resorts asking for info/prices but haven't gotten a reply yet... which I know could take weeks...

Just hoping to find out what info I can from other brides to help me make a decision on a resort and get the bookings started! I have my invitations ready to go.. just need to input the info!

Thanks!!

Susan

WOW!! Love it... too funny.. I have the exact same colours as you ! Great taste!! :)  Are those the roses from the resort?   I noticed in your pics you have the light blue bows on the chairs for the reception? Did you have to pay an additional $3.00 for each bow to have them at the reception?... I emailed Yinette about the extra decorations and told her I want the bows for the chairs at the receptions and she told me I had to rent them again, I thought that was weird!!!! I also love your starfish idea for the centrepeices... Did you bring them down with you or just buy them down there?... I assume once I arrive there will be lots more choices, i hope!!! I found the prices the same here to rent :s... One more question - Your reception on the outdoor terrace, what time was that at? Mine starts at 630pm but your looks really light out still which I like.

Thanks so much! Your pics are beautiful :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
