I definitely saved money. (Plus, I cancelled the bouquet that came with my package and the resort took some money off my rental of the sound equipment for the reception, which was great.) We had enough flowers for 8 BM bouquets, tons of FG petals, my bouquet, and the reception...and still had lots leftover.

I worked with Ana Rivas (alrls@hotmail.com). She was very responsive and worked hard to get what I wanted. Since I spent over $200, it was delivered to the resort for free.

Word of warning: Flower quality wasn't the best (we just got roses, and some were blown way open, some were rotten, etc). We had more than enough flowers, though, so it wasn't the end of the world. Knowing what I know now, I would still go the route of getting flowers on my own. It did take a fair amount of time to make them but my mom was excited to do it.

Yay!!! Can't wait to see you added to the list :)

I feel like I've been wedding slacking lately.....my brain just needed a break...lol!

I figure since we have the date, hotel, judge, travel, and photographer booked - there isn't a ton more that I can do right now until our 90 days pass with the travel agent and I see how many people are coming! Then it will be time to start passport invites, OOT bags, etc.

I contemplated on this resort because of the price of the wedding package and the resort prices per night..the wedding package is exactly how I want it, I don't like how the other resorts only price it for 20 plp and the rest is extra..as we know this one offers it for a larger group and the price was not bad at all considering others.. The Main problem I had with this one is the location of the gazebo.. When I look at pictures all I can imagen is my wedding picture background with building instead of the beach ..This deff was a turn-off for me..I wish they had more then one gazebo..because the rates were excellent exactly what I want my guest to spend but I'm not willing to sacrifice the location of my dream wedding..

I totally wish they had a more private beach gazebo as well....the garden one is not for me as I want to have the beach in the background. I really loved the private beach gazebos at some of the other resorts, but ultimately it was more important to me to have lots of family and friends since we are getting a reasonable price at Ocean Blue. Had I chosen a resort with the most amazing gazebo, and the price was over 2000.00 pp......I don't think I'd have half of the guests I have attending Ocean Blue :)

Did you consider a wedding on the beach? They don't have a "gazebo" exactly, but they do have a "huppah" (spelling?!) or whatever it is called....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
