Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Congrats on booking your date!!

We are planning an April 2013 wedding at Ocean Blue as well and were actually thinking of the 11th LOL. I guess we'll consider the 12th or 18th now. Do you mind me asking what package and locations you chose?

Also, if you wouldn't mind sending me the extras list you have that would be great!! Happy planning!! kmac224@gmail.com

Can't wait to hear reviews/pictures of the recent weddings! :)

Hi Kristina!

I'll send you whatever I have. I'm going to go with the Sand Extravaganza package - not totally sure how many guests we will have yet - thinking around 40max. I don't think the hotel lets you confirm your location this far out, but I could be wrong :) From what I've read/heard - They like to have an idea of what sized groups they have on that day (as there are often more than one wedding per day). I'll have to look into this though - maybe some other brides have some input on this? Did they let you pick your dinner location way in advance, ie: when you booked the package?

I'm sorry about the 11th! I'm sure you could still have your wedding that date if it's one you want - as I said I think they do more than one wedding per day. I do know that we have the beach for the ceremony, and the judge for 4pm thought. Good luck with narrowing it down and choosing your date! It's exciting to get word from them that you have your day :)

Watch out for an email from me!

Oops! To clarify - I meant I hadn't chosen a "dinner/reception" venue yet. That is the part I don't think they let you choose too far in advance - but maybe the other brides here can help us out! :)

As far as the ceremony location, I've picked that :) Beach all the way....praying for few onlookers...lol! I'm super happy the Judge was available for my 4pm time slot!

Yeah we're really torn between the Sand Extravaganza and the Ocean Romance. The only major difference that makes me want to Ocean Romance is the open bar and premium cocktail hour. I don't really care so much about the manicure and massage and all that jazz I was just confused if the dinner wouldn't have open bar if you use the Sand Extravaganza??

We're not sure how many guests we will have either. Our list is about 100 right now but of course not all of those people will actually come.

No worries on the date.. great minds think alike!! ;)  We are doing the beach too but not a legal ceremony. And I'm hoping for La Brasa for the reception. We are probably going to end up doing the 18th because we liked the idea of a Thursday because Saturday-Saturday flights are pretty common for being inexpensive here and we didnt want people to have an early flight after the wedding! If I end up being there the same time I'll chase the onlookers away for you! hahaha.

Looking forward to sharing planning with you! :)

I'm pretty sure that the Sand Ext. package also includes open bar - but now I'm freaking out! lol

Any other brides know if the Sand. Ext. package included open bar for the coctail hour/reception?

I just saw your comparison chart in your email that says it does (thanks for your email by the way, great stuff!!!).  Did that chart come from them or did you put it together? Because if it comes from them it says it is included. I just think the packages are worded unclearly!

I've read up on the facebook group - as I was sure I've seen it posted before. There are a few brides there indicating that the Sand Extr. package does include open bar :) Thank goodness - you have me a little heart attack there...lol! I really don't see the Ocean Romance being worth the extras...but it would depend on your group/needs.

With the open bar confirmed-- totally agreed. We're going to end up doing the same thing. I'm replying to your email in further detail :)

Can't wait for some of the recently wedded ladies to post their details!!! I'm so excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
