Check deltavacations.com, too. That's who we're booking though. (Most guests are out of the Midwest.) If you sign up for their romance/friends and family (or something like that...it slips my mind!) package, each of your guests receives a certain amount off, and you'll get some money back after the event to help recoup costs. It's based on price, so each of our guests is getting $50 off their package, and we'll get $50 back for each package booked. Nice little bonus after the fact! The only thing is that your guests need to book with your travel agent so they can be part of the friends and family package. Just some food for thought!

Would you be willing to email the additional wedding package information. I only received the Wedding Packages also. We are planning our wedding for June 9, 2012 and I am still a little confused on how all of this works. We should have about 30-40 gues and I am still trying to figure out the best way to go. Are there any packages that include a reception, ipod or DJ (do you have to supply your own playlist for the DJ). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Miss Nisha:

Send me your email.  None of the packages include a dj - the packages include basic ceremony and reception for up to 40 people...then you can either add dj or rent speakers so that your ipod can be played.  We are paying for dj/mc services - and we were told we can supply a playlist if we want or they can create something for us.  The dj that Ocean Blue uses is on facebook as RS Entertainment - they have videos you can watch (FYI - using any other dj service results in a $350 resort fee).  For us, we are going to pprovide some definite songs we want played and then let them fill in the rest.  Hope that helps - I can send the wedding services paper over once I have your email - it just includes extra things like flowers, centerpieces....

Actually, i will try attaching here first :)

Well, I'm less than 6 months out from the big day! I feel like there are a lot of loose ends...for example, I'm planning to book a photographer/videographer/dj through the resort but haven't done so yet. I'm working through a travel agent (rather than the wedding coordinator on site) and she thinks it's early to worry about these things. I'm not so sure - I wouldn't just start looking at photographers 6 months out if I was getting married at home!

Here's what I've done so far:

-Selected date and time for ceremony

-Chosen ceremony/reception package

-Reserved restaurant (La Brasa)

-All attire has been purchased

-Working on OOT bags and attendant gifts

So are there other major things I should have taken care of by this point? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I might be stressing about it also. I have been emailing directly with the resort coordinator. Are you having your (and your BM's) hair and nails done at the resort? If so that might wanna schedule.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
