Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Congrats @Laurelyn!!  We just paid our deposit for Jan 28, 2012.  La Brasa was already booked for that day :(  so we are paying a little extra to have a poolside reception... I really hated the pictures of La Tortuga (lime green plaid curtains).  Are you having a DJ?  I originally wanted to use DJ Mania since I've heard so many amazing things, but the WC said there's a $350 just to use an outside vendor!!!  I'm just interested to see what everyone else is doing...

Hi Ladies,

I'm getting the impression that most everyone has been satisfied with their experience at OB, true?  This is one of our choices for a 2012 wedding, but I haven't looked at any packages yet. I found a link by scrolling through some of your post.....Thank you!  For those of you who have been to this resort, did you have single friends with you and did they enjoy themselves?  I keep hearing it is very family friendly, but I'm more worried about our single friends.  I want to make sure the resort we choose will accommodate couples and singles.  A few other questions: 1)  Was the swim-up bar fun?  2)  Was there music playing?  3)  Did you receive a lot of complaints about the distance from the beach to the main lobby area?

Happy Wedding Plan!

@ alittlerandr  we are expecting around 30-40 people so I guess that would be a medium sized group.  I'm just nervous about people waiting to book as its Ontario spring break meaning it will be busy down there and i'm not to sure how quick the resort will sell out...

@MsClarke724 we thought about having a dj but opted out once learning the cost of it.  So we are going to ask a couple of our music loving friends to fill their ipods for us and we are going to ask my uncle to mc for us.

Also for anyone interested I also asked Ada about an outside photographer and her response was "For 2012 the hotel may be charging outside vendors fee for outside photographers"  But I am now concerned after seeing what Ada told Skygirl about no outside photographers lets hope we can get a straight answer from her soon.

@Laurelyn - I am at 34 right now, anticipating another 20+. But I'm nervous, too, about people waiting to book. After my first group of about 25 booked, prices shot up (and the flight choices are now less than optimal...many have 2 layovers each way, some with overnights.) When we booked, the lowest price option included a direct flight there and back. But, I have to remember it really is up to them when/if they book, and it's not top of mind for them like it is for me...I doubt they're checking the hotel+ flight combos 3 or 4 times per day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
