Recommended Posts

Alm0411,

I would recommend for you to call the hotel and ask to speak to a manager.  because Julissa said that was not going to be a problem and now because she's gone they want to change things... that i not fare..

Hi everone! Hope you are all doing well today. I have been doing a lot of research on resorts in the DR and so far Oceans Blue and Sand is my first choice. I have a few questions for anyone who might know the answer. First..Does anyone know when is the cheapest time to travel to DR? I have a big family and I would like for all of them to be able to afford it. Second...Has anyone been to DR during August or September and if so how was the weather and how much did you pay for all inclusive? I am thinking of getting married either August or September 2011, thats why i ask. Thanks so much guys!!smile03.gif

Has everyone got the notice that Ada is off now until February?

Has anyone else received quotes to use the Dominican Trio for the ceremony? We have as part of our package for the cocktail hour and I figured if they will be there anyway I'd also like to use for the ceremony and not have to worry about music to walk down the aisle to. It also gives an island fare to things. I asked Ada how much for the ceremony and she quoted me $252 which makes no sense as on the price list it says $200 for an hour and the ceremony is 20 minutes.

I'd also be interested in hearing anyone's quotes for the beach set up for the ceremony as I've been quoted from $550-$750 and once again the price list says $390. I think sometimes the prices are made up to see what they can get and I'd like to compare so I can negotiate.

Hello,

You are right when you say that this resort seems more affordable to the bride and groom and guests.  I am trying to narrow down where to get marrieed and this resort is high on my list too.  Any information you could provide would be helpful!!!  -Valerie

Hi Brides!

I got married at Ocean Blue and Sand on Nov 27th!  It was fantastic!

I had 65guests we all had fantastic time!  For music we used DJMannia-  info@manniapuntacana.com - highly highly recommend!!!  We dances non stop from 6pm till 3am - good music is everything! 110% worth the money if you have many guest coming.

Resort provides very little decorations which is a huge problem if you want a beautiful wedding.  You choice either bring your own or hire a decorator.  I hired a decorator and she decorated beyond my expectations I used Mayte.  If you have lots of guest its great resort but you need to do lots of homework.  Please feel free to email me at Natalia.k.ny@gmail.com if you like more info here are few photos taken by a friend

Ah brides!  You must take a honey moon suit!!!  Regular rooms are below average ;( clean but very very simple and old-fashion with old furniture - so honeymoon is a must! Also recommend your guest to book rooms with view on the pool as other are facing a fence and are dark and if you have a choice ask for the rooms in building on the left if you are facing the ocean

Has anyone heard from Yinette or Ada (if she's back) lately? I sent 2 emails last week and then again this week and have not heard back from them. Usually the response is quite quick. Understandably it is a very busy time for  them but my wedding is in 2 weeks and I need to confirm some things with them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
