Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Thanks,  I have a few more questions for everyone:     We have decided to go with the Blue Affair package for our wedding.  Just wondering what additional items/services you can recommend from the "Additional Services" list?  It seems like the package covers the basics and I really can't figure out what else I will needhuh.gif  Also when it says that a sound system is included - does that include an Ipod docking station?  If no can we order one from the hotel?  I guess we could always bring our own too.

Thanks!

Hi Smrstars,

The only thing I can think of for additional services would be the flowers unless you are taking care of that yourself. I've budgeted in extra champagne and I want to ask Ada about the extra costs for decorating the arch on the beach. I too am wondering about the sound system and if it includes an Ipod docking station.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had a private reception after the wedding diner? We would like to have a completely private area for our first dance and our guests are huge dancers so it would be a bonus. How did most of you do it? Did you just go to the club or did you have a private area. Feedback would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Hi! I just read your post on how you had your wedding at the Ocean Blue & sand-Punta Cana Resort. How was it? Please let me know if you would highly recommend this place.  I really want to have a destination wedding and having the hardest time deciding where to go.

Thank you so much! Congrats! :)

Hubs and I are going to this resort in February (My parents own a timeshare there) and we are doing some footwork for my sister who is getting married there in 2012...I will make sure to take a zillion pics of everything possibly wedding related and will give some feedback on the resort as a guest on holiday as well!!

The WC who left there, does anyone know if this was Julissa? I was working with her and haven't gotten an email back from her for sometime and just got one from Ada who I haven't worked with at all to this point. Our wedding is in January and I am trying to finish a few things up before we get there. I hate to start working with someone else at this point. Yikes!

I am also having my wedding in January (the 14th to be exact) and have been working with Ada the entire time.  She has been awesome and I have had no problems with her at all.  I can assure you that she will definitely take care of you.  When in January is your wedding?

We are getting married on January 27th. I am sure she is great, I am hoping she is better than Julissa who I was working with before. Glad to hear she has been great for you. I am looking forward to our trip and wedding. It will be here before I know it.

Any former Ocean brides, what do they do about wine at the reception dinner? Do they put it on the tables so guests can help themselves or do they serve or do you just order what you want? My FI is suddenly concerned about the wine and wants to pay to upgrade the wine but I don't think it's necessary as I'm sure that whatever they serve is fine. How does this work?

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
