"Marriage Day" pictures!!!

Recommended Posts

Soooo... I am officially a MRS and it feels good!!! Woohoooo smile123.gif FI and I agreed that we would celebrate friday as our "marriage day" and then have a separate anniversary for the real wedding day. And for those of you ladies that are thinking what I was thinking, that doesn't mean 2 anniversary gifts (I already checked).

First, thank you to everyone who suggested I bring a camera - You were SO right! I totally thought this was going to be a no big deal, informal thing. I figured I would just come home from class, go down to city hall in whatever I was wearing, and sign some forms. I was really wrong. When I got home, FI was all fancied up in a suit! Obviously, I couldn't be showed up so I threw on a dress - lucky for me white is in season! - and we headed out the door.

Now, I am usually a pretty emotional person (some would say I'm a big ol' sap) but I really didn't expect to be affected by this because it was so formal and NOT romantic at all! I totally thought the whole thing would be quick - especially because all you get is a 15 minute marriage appointment with the justice of the peace. Anyway, I don't know what happened to me but when they called our names, everything changed. The minute she started talking about vows and marriage, I started to get all nervous and clammy. By the time I heard FI recite his vows... honor, love, forever... and a kiss! I was TOTALLY tearing up! And of course, I didnt get to read all the posts that suggested I bring Kleenex!!!!

So, all in all... I loved every minute of it and it was an amazing day that only made me look forward to my wedding day even more!

As for pictures - if you are wondering why my mouth is blue - well its because I thought it would be a really good idea to eat a celebratory rasberry ice cone (obviously- what could be better?) I really hope these pictures post because I have spent an hour of bar exam study time trying to figure this out!

Congratulations and great pictures!!!!

Was it only you two that went to the court and the person taking pics?

The reason I ask is because I'm having 10 friends come with us and my mom and maybe my aunt and then we are going out to dinner to have a mini celebration. LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
