I am also getting married at Dreams Palm Beach! I agree with everyone here! I would say STD's would be first since you want to give everyone enough notice to book their trip! At the same time I would start looking for dresses for you and for your bridesmaids! If you are not using the resort photographer...start looking into that too. Other then that...there is not much else to do until you know who is going! Just BREATHE and relax and enjoy. It may seem there is alot to do but there really isn't until you get closer to your wedding date and can decide on some of the details!!

i am in the same boat with melani i have not heard anything from her since the confirmation unless i email her to ask a question and even then her answers are vague and probably more so because of the language barrier sometimes i feel like she doesnt understand what i am asking. but try to relax i have read nothing but good reviews abour DPB and melani and i think thats the only thing that keeps me sane.

First and foremost. Get out there and start dress shopping. It took 3 almost 4 months for my dress to come in. And I found it on my first shopping experience. And that doesnt happen to everyone. So start shopping and choosing and purchasing.

Second if you are making your STD and invites. I would def start doing so. They take a while and they are handcrafted.
Also I got our STDs about 10 months before our wedding to give people enough time to book and start planning their finances etc. That is def something you want to get out quickly. I would send your invites out in June/July time.

Favors and programs you can do next summer.

Id say first things first dress and STD's. DEF!
I agree completely...DRESS and STD's. Then you can lay low for a little while. No need for a paperbag Chica wink.gif

44 days til my big day! and Melani just sent me an email with some things for me to fill out to start working on the wedding details. So you can relax for a little while and concentrate on your dress and STD's. See, no worries it will all come togeather.

YEA!!!! If you don't mind me asking...what did she send you to fill out? Are you having a private dinner for your guests?

Thank you ladies, for all your advice. I am so grateful. How did people ever survive before with out forums like this?

For the dress, I will start looking asap and will start the STDs this week; I do not want to send them out until after the holidays (when guest will want a vacation)bunny_4.gif

Ok, I will look in to the photag, my aunt is coming from DR this week, Iâ€ll make her in charge of researching a photographer and a pastor as soon as she goes back home ( I might just become her worst nightmare lol)

I am getting married in DR because our parents are Dominican and my Bf grew up there and loves it. We want our wedding to be typical and native. so we are going to need a lot of help from our relatives over there, but I just want to hear from my wedding planner to make sure everything is running ok but itâ€s cool ill just wait for her to contact me, Iâ€m sure Melani will be great

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
