Key West help!

Ok, so I finally decided on Key West for my wedding. Now I am trying to find a wedding planner to help me with my decisions making. It seems like there are so many choices. I really like some of the packages from places like Weddings To Go! and EZ Weddings in Paradise, but I want to use my own photographer because I think I will get better pictures that way (If someone has pictures from one of these places that they were really impressed with please let me know). I also don't want to pay a lot so if anyone has suggestion or has had a great experience with a company please let me know.

I used weddings to go! and it was one of the best decision I made!

I thought 90% of my pics came out great, we love them, everyone loves them - we lucked out with a great sunset so that helped. My day was exactly what I wanted. Flowers were gorgeous, everything was so easy and stress free, they really did help me plan my wedding and give me reception suggestions and always got back to me right away.

My pics are in their online website, 11/21/09 Mike and Tasha

Really can't beat the price either for what you get. I would recommend them.

Congrats and best wishes! I don't have any experience with planners but I really like the Hyatt key West for a wedding and reception site. The wedding coordinator is Ava and she's super helpful. Another marriage site that looked really cool is Fort Zachary Taylor. Good luck!

Like you, I felt doing my own research and piecing together my vendors was the way to go. So in lieu of hiring a full on wedding planner I hired a day-of wedding planner through We'veGotTheKeys. Fiona was awesome and handled EVERYTHING the day-of. They were also able to recommend a couple of my vendors, but honestly Key West is such a small island that I didn't find it that hard to do my own research on the vendors. Personally I didn't want to pay a planner to book my cakes, flowers, etc, b/c there really are only a couple reputable vendors for both of these on the island. I just called them all, talked to them and went with who I felt the most comforable with. Some made it really easy by being rude or unresponsive, in that case I just went with their competitor. I went with Tony Gregory as my photographer b/c a friend of a friend recommended him. He was great to work with and we ended up with over 1,000 shots, handed to us on a cd within 12 hours of the wedding! Then with our purchased package I think he cropped/altered/enhanced 50 of our choice, but we have them all digitally. We had a very unique situation though, a family friend, who is also a wedding photographer announced at the last minute her gift to us was that she was also going to photograph our wedding so we had both of them there! In retrospect it's kind of funny and Tony was a really good sport about it and in the end we actually ended up with some really cool shots from 2 different perspectives.

I won the free photography package from NOra Bohanon on this website, so she will be taking our day of wedding pictures and had even agreed to take my fiance and I around town the next day for more pictures. Key West has some great scenery that I would hate to miss out on some great pictures.

My new problem is that the wedding coordinator that I originally chose has "handed" me over to someone else (I think it's because we aren't using their photography) for the ceremony and decorations. Now I need a florist and hair dresser so if anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Key West is great place for wedding. Real peacefull there and fun.

We were there last year for a few days and drove down from Miami after a few days in South Beach. Florida is lots of fun always.

Disney and Epcot are also a great place to visit in Orlando. No beach but fun. Dry Tortugas are worth a visit also while in Keys. Real nice.

If looking for excellent photographer/videographer, call Frank Panaro in Miami. Does alot of Florida weddings including all of Keys.

Did my wedding and alot of other brides from all over USA.

Website: www.frankpanarophotography.com

Does photography and video and is priced fairly.

Packages from $2000 and up.

He can also help you out with other aspects of wedding.

You have made a great choice so enjoy it all.

I'm getting married at the Pier House and they have great packages. The officiant and photographer included in the package are from EZweddings in paradise and if you go to thier website, ezweddingsinparadise.com, there is a link to lots of photo albums from all over Key West. It has helped make a list of must have pictures for the wedding day. Good Luck:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
