May 2010 Tulum bride relocating from SC to Vancouver!

OK ladies & Michael!! He will be in Vancouver Feb. 28th-March 4th, then we have a wedding in Florida that weekend. Then he is taking his "guys" trip to Whistler the next week, and then I will be flying up to Vancouver the 3rd weekend in March?!?!? Maybe the last weekend?!? I will know exact dates by hopefully this weekend!

 

I am having the hardest time finding a rental home in the Surrey area (SandalGirl-maybe you have some insight for me? Maybe you can PM me some info? I would be soooo grateful!!) I have searched online through every avenue possible and our downfall at this point is our 3 labs (all adult, trained, clean, non-destructive). EVERY home that looks nice, of course says, NO PETS! We are willing to put down a high deposit and make an addendum to a contract that we would replace any damage or flooring, etc... in order to reassure any landlord that we will take care of the property. If anyone has any info or knows of any property managers that would be willing to help us, I would be forever in your debt!! PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you all again for your continued support! I am still VERY excited to move to the area!!!! YEY!!! Hope you all are having a great week!! TTYS! :)

Hey everyone!

 

Sorry I've been MIA on the forum for the past few weeks...was CRAZY busy at work with the Olympics and then I got sick...boo:-(

 

Anywaaaay... are y'all still into doing a BDW get together?;-)

DDK5576 -- wasn't sure from your last note if that meant you'd be here to stay by the end of March...?

Meanwhile...if anyone else is into a get together, let us/me know! And then I'll post something more "formally" on the get-together part of the forum:-)

I was thinking maybe the end of March...sounds like DDK5576 may be here by then...AND I may be out of town for most of April, so check your calendars and let us/me know!

So, I just got my flight together for my visit April 14th 5pm - Wed. & leave bright & early on Monday the 19th. I really only have Wed. nt (just me) & Thurs. nt (my fiance & I) then we are heading to the Telus Ski fest Friday & Sat. so the more the merrier!

 

It looks like we are making the 6 day road trip June 3rd-9th. So tentatively we will be there June 9th!! :)

 

Simistar- You said you will be out of town most of April....So let me/us know if this tiime works or not! I would love to at least go to dinner/drinks Wed. night just the girls or Thurs. nt my fiance and I cd meet up as a group/couple thing?!! Just let me know ladies! I can't wait! :)

I'm actually flying back into Vancouver from Los Angeles on the 14th so could conceivably do that night, but not at my place (it would be a mess!:-)) But out for drinks/appies somewhere would work?!

OR, I'm happy to have everyone over to my place (it's big) on the Thursday night, the 15th, though it sounds like that doesn't work for you...?

Let me know and I can post a get-together notice:-)

Yes. You are correct. I was coming to visit for a long weekend and then we will be there more permanently after the wedding (around June 9th).

However, our plans have changed due to my fiance's stepdad passing this past weekend sad.gif

So instead of coming up the 14th, I will be flying in on the 21st and we will head up to Whistler for the Telus Ski & Snowboard Fest on Friday the 23rd for the weekend. (Be back Sunday evening) I leave Monday the 26th early early a.m.

Sorry for the change. Let me know if we can still get together! I would really like to meet you all!! Much love!

Really sorry to hear that your FI's stepdad passed away, that must be super emotional for the family.

 

I am likely free for some drinks/meet up April 21st or 22nd evening tho, getting so close to the wedding (flying out to Mexico may 2nd), need some decompressing time!!

mlabbe- You are getting close! 5 days!! You are probably already on a plane heading to your BIG day! So exciting!!

 

Well ladies... we officially have a home in Langley!! Yay! Bedford Landings! It's close to the gym, but that's about all I know. I have seen pics and DJ previewed it and we rented it! We are planning the 6 day drive June 3rd or 4th. So I will be getting furniture and getting settled. We are only bringing useful kitchen appliances and clothes. So if anyone can help me with where to go for inexpensive, but nice furniture, I would be grateful. Then we can have a house warming party and finally meet!! I hope everyone is having a great week! I look forward to all of this excitement ahead! TTYS! :)

Okay ladies!! I am in need of some serious socializing with the girls!!! We are officially moved in, minus the furniture that should be here next week. We are in Bedford Landings in Langley, so not far from Vancouver! I have no job, yet, so I am bored outta my gourd! My outtings have consisted of Gold's Gym, the vet's office, and dinner & movie at the IMAX with my husband! Yay! I have a husband! And so do most of you by now!! :-D

I'm soooo sorry I've been MIA!
I actually, without much planning or notice, moved to Los Angeles for the summer - for work!:-)
So have been swamped with , well, work, but also kind of getting my bearings...how you must feel in Vancouver/Langley!

I really REALLY would love to get together with you and any other BDW ladies in the Lower Mainland...and I'd still love to host something at my place...it's just looking like that won't happen until September (end of?) now...

Sorry everyone!! I'm not just saying that -- I would really like to meet you all and have you over for drinks!:-)

Did you end up sorting out furniture...? You're pretty close to the big Ikea in Coquitlam...that's a great place for inexpensive stuff:-) Just like I've been running to Target here in LA like three hundred times this past week for stuff for the unfurnished place I'm in, lol:-)

Oh, and Happy Canada Day!:-)

I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
