Thanks for the update. I'm sure your ideas about the decorations will mean a lot to him and help make him feel included in your special day.

Enjoy your wedding trip and congratulations!

I am so sorry to hear that your plans are not coming together exactly as you dreamed & planned....I went through something very similar at my first wedding (this one is #2). The video will help....I'm sure you're father will want you to have the best day ever.

Take care, good luck and love your special day. d

Dear Nonnie,

I am sorry to hear that. You mom and grandma are right, calling off the wedding will only make your dad feel worse. Just remember all your dad wants is for you to have a great wedding. I know it is hard but please try to enjoy your big day and take some really nice pictures and video, I'm sure your dad will be so happy when he sees them!

My thoughts are with you Nonnie :)

Scarlett

Nonnie I am so sorry to hear about your dad. It would be great if you can capture your big day on tape for him. I hope that everything for you goes well as well as your father. I can only imagine how upset you must be. Good luck!

Nonnie, I know this is really hard but your dad is doing the right thing by getting the care he needs.

Go and have a beautiful wedding and take lots of pictures. Maybe next year you can renew your vows with him there.

Nonnie--I love the idea of watching the video with him when you get back and having him dance with you to your father dance still. I think it would mean a lot to him and you. Also I love the idea of letting him help you with the decorations- it will allow him to feel like he is still there in some way. Good Luck and we are all wishing you the best.

Oh Nonnie....how scared you all must have been! Your dad is safe and getting help, so go and have a wonderful time! If you talk to the resort, maybe the WC can help with getting some of your pictures posted so you can send them home right away....and watching the video with him is a wonderful idea. Maybe when you are home you can plan a small at home reception that is smaller, engagement party size, and do your father-daughter dance then.

Have the best day you can and then come home and celebrate with your dad some more! Good luck sweetie!

I'm writing this in the lobby bar of the resort. Everything is so wonderful. My dad's folks, who were unable to come to the wedding are with him now He is getting better, had ECT therapy, can leave the unit etc. Maybe when I get home he will be able to be home.

I know now that if he came to the DR like this he would have handled it very badly, mabe even wondered off never to be seen again. I am sad some days and I know I will cry the day before and day of the wedding, but it will still be wonderful. beter go have pina colada's to drink
