Dear Nonnie,

I am sorry to hear that. You mom and grandma are right, calling off the wedding will only make your dad feel worse. Just remember all your dad wants is for you to have a great wedding. I know it is hard but please try to enjoy your big day and take some really nice pictures and video, I'm sure your dad will be so happy when he sees them!

My thoughts are with you Nonnie :)

Nonnie--I love the idea of watching the video with him when you get back and having him dance with you to your father dance still. I think it would mean a lot to him and you. Also I love the idea of letting him help you with the decorations- it will allow him to feel like he is still there in some way. Good Luck and we are all wishing you the best.

Oh Nonnie....how scared you all must have been! Your dad is safe and getting help, so go and have a wonderful time! If you talk to the resort, maybe the WC can help with getting some of your pictures posted so you can send them home right away....and watching the video with him is a wonderful idea. Maybe when you are home you can plan a small at home reception that is smaller, engagement party size, and do your father-daughter dance then.

Have the best day you can and then come home and celebrate with your dad some more! Good luck sweetie!

I'm writing this in the lobby bar of the resort. Everything is so wonderful. My dad's folks, who were unable to come to the wedding are with him now He is getting better, had ECT therapy, can leave the unit etc. Maybe when I get home he will be able to be home.

I know now that if he came to the DR like this he would have handled it very badly, mabe even wondered off never to be seen again. I am sad some days and I know I will cry the day before and day of the wedding, but it will still be wonderful. beter go have pina colada's to drink

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
