    Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all other brides-to-be and recent brides!
I'm thrilled to say that my fianc© surprised me during a trip last month in the South of France, as he got down on one knee while we were visiting a castle. Very touching and romantic!!! (I LOVE surprises!)

We'd like a wedding in the Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen region. His youngest brother (of 3) and bestman has just asked us if we'd consider a DOUBLE wedding. I think it's great idea (as long as they agree to MY ideas of course!!! lol)
As for the date, we're thinking Nov. 2010 or Jan/Feb 2011 to avoid the Holiday and spring break crowds.

From what I've gathered so far, The Royal Playa del Carmen seems like the ideal all-inclusive for our needs.

There's SO MUCH to look into & think about though, my head is spinning!!!

I'm wondering if I should hire a local wedding planner (Riviera Maya)? Any thoughts? I'd like to able to chose my photographer, flowers, menu, decorations, music, etc.

    P.S. - I'm French-Canadian so sorry if I make some spelling errors!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You should check out the thread about the Royal you will find a lot of great information there. I looked into this resort before making my final decision and you can pick all of those items but I believe they have a fee for bringing in your own photographer if they are not a guest of the resort. Good luck with all your planning!

Hi Brigitte - Congrats and welcome! I'm getting married at the Royal in June and can't wait. We are flying in a photographer found on BDW (Sherese from Sweet Memories Photography). Check her out!

          Best wishes,

Thanks for the reference and the advice. Spliting costs in half certainly is appealing and would enable us to splurge a little more.
