Thanks and congrats again
A friend of ours was our photog. We paid for her trip and photog expenses. and she shot us for 3 days! Since she was also a guest, they did not charge me an outside vendor fee. The professional shots at the very end of the web page (link below) were taken by Ernesto - he's with the resort. There's a "Photo Shop" desk near the lobby bar where you can inquire and make an appointment. Free photo shoot and only $10/picture - it was totally worth it for us. We love the pix!

We've got this resort set as our top choice. The only thing I'm being picky about is the ceremony location. I love a destination wedding on the beach, but it just isn't for me. So I am patiently waiting on more pictures of alternate areas. We wanted to see more pictures because on our quick site visit with the sales manager last month, she wasn't able to show us "creative" options. They say there is a garden area where they mostly do Mayan ceremonies and we've seen a tiny picture, but atmosphere is so important to me so I was hoping that anyone out there can send me or post pictures here?!

I'm still a noob too so it's frustrationg not being able to see atatched files on here.

P.s. How are the drinks? I know this is the last on my worries, but I keep reading bad reviews. Did you or our party have trouble?

Thanks for any info!

Carly

Hi Carly -

There is a gorgeous gazebo positioned sorta in the middle of the pool, though it's only ideal for a small wedding - I think 20 or under. There's also a small garden area with a fountain, but also only good for a small group. There are pictures of both on the Paradisus website in their photo gallery.

You could also have the ceremony on the terrace overlooking the beach. Were you able to view my pictures? There are some nice ones of the terrace.

As for drinks, it's not top shelf, but no one really complained. It was free/all included! Sure you could order and pay for a nicer bottle of wine than the AI wine which we did at times, but for the most part, it did the trick - we got drunk! LOL! Mango Tango and Sexy Banana were big hits!

Hey Brooke,

First of all, your blog is a godsend! The itinerary alone clarified alot for me. Not sure if this forum's ship has sailed (no one has posted in a couple months) but I'll try it out anyways.

By the looks of your photos (which were stunning BTW), you probably went with the chill-out chic package. Is this right? Did you have to add on any upgrades on top of this package? When did you start booking stuff like your welcome and rehersal dinner? I haven't done anything except secured the date and am getting worried I might be behind schedule...

I am really no good with all this wedding planning. I wanted to elope but reluctantly decided to do the DW thing to appease my family and fiance. It's alot more work than I was hoping for... any suggestions would be appreciated :) Lily

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
