Wedding Packages Moon Palace, Cancun

Hi CeeCee

The pictures are pretty nice...there are some stupid shots...its to be expected..also...my fiance is a big ham...so we seem to have a LOT of

pics of him... the photographer wanted me to climb up on rocks..and I was

like uh...NO... also... I picked the Amethyst Rose collection...which includes

Package A... my WC told me if I wanted to I could upgrade the package..

and then purchase an extra hour with the photgrapher which was $160 for

an hour. We ended up doing 2 hours... I have about 300 pictures.. you can ask

your WC what your options are...also...I had a book made..and he picked my pics...

which annoyed me cause I was like wth...

Let me know if you have any more questions...

Kim

hey nutty

im in the same boat as you, im from uk and have about 20 going over for our wedding, so think we are just going to have the meal we get within our package rather than doing private function , i dont think there is enough of us to actually have the private function but never mind. just want to make sure we pick some where nice for the meal and just decorate the table extra special . we are going with the sapphire package and have been told that we can change the flowers and cake once we get there as i to really dont like the flowers and thats what i was worried about. but you can change hun.. are you having the hotel photographerhuh.gif?

Hey Nuttytart,

From what I've been reading, many brides have elected to go with the free package and add-on options simply for the matter of choice. I personally want the convenience of packages, but make sure you get the catalogs from your WC...my perception of the options and what is included was different.

Do you have a link to your photos? Who was your photographer?

I've checked prices with MP and they are very high. However, as some of you have mentioned, Orbitz is MUCH cheaper! It's still way too early for me to worry about these things but I need as much info as possible, so as the date nears, I'll know what to do to get the bang for my buck. Thanks ladies!!

From what I understand Orbitz is cheaper but those are rooms with obstructed views. Our TA was able to include a couple of the obstructed view rooms in our group booking in case someone wants to go on the cheap (how much are you really in you room anyway), they can. Through our TA these rooms were then cheaper than Orbitz is offering them for.

I went with the Emerald package since I love green. Now, I'm starting to second guess this decision as I've seen some brides just go with the Complimentary package and then just update it. Some people say it's cheaper that way but I guess it depends on what you want.

Who was your photographer? Is there some way that I can see your photographer's work? I was just thinking about using the resort photographer but I saw some of their work and I was a little disappointed. Right now, I'm working on getting an outside photographer come in. The resort currently charges $850 on upgrading their photographer package for up to 2 hours of the reception. Octavio Montes just quoted me $799 for 4 hours of photography time and that includes editing and shipping. In addition to that, his work is really nice.

Also is there any point me having a private function with so few people? I really don't know what to do, I am having a reception when i get back.
Don't know what to do, any advice would be much appreciated.

I think it's fine to just go with restaurant reservations seeing as you will have a reception when you get back. You can choose a restaurant that has a terrace outside (I think Arrecifes the Brazilian churrascaria) has one and you can request your WC to put you and your wedding party in there. Maybe just bring in some really nice decorations and centerpieces to make your spot at the restaurant stand out.

I'm using the amethyst rose collection...purple is my favourite color! But before I chose, I was debating between that and the Sapphire. I think there are pros for choosing a collection as well as complimentary...it just depends on each bride. As for myself, I'm not one for details and thats why I chose a package that was pretty inclusive and stuck to a particular theme. If I chose the complimentary package and purchased things a la carte style, I think my head would explode with too many choices and details haha!!! So don't second guess your decision...I'm sure you made it for a reason! All you have to do now is ENJOY and say I DO!!! Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
