I think a review of your experience is necessary to help out other brides, I hope you post one.
Thanks Bachata Bride - I am so nervious as there is not a lot of info on this resort for reviews. I have so many questions...I am soo glad to here that your went soo well!!

No problem - any questions, just let me know! I think we've talked about this before...but let me know if there's anything else!

Ladies - I was at the Riu Mambo for our first anniversary in November. This hotel is NOT a 4-star as advertised. It is, however, part of a threesome of resorts (Riu Merenge and Riu Bachata being the other two). The Riu Bachata (just down the beach) is much nicer, and has better facilities. There was a wedding at the Riu Mambo while we were there, and it was very low-key. If this is what you have in mind, and you're not looking for too many bells and whistles ('cause you won't find them at Riu Mambo), then you won't be too disappointed.

It sounds like your experience was a complete nightmare; I'm sorry to hear it. I will be looking forward to reading your review.

Could you provide a review of your wedding at the Bachata? I am about to book this resort for my wedding in November and am reading some pretty negative reviews..starting to get very nervous!

Kimberbrooke - I will not be writing a review of my wedding. But if you have any questions...please feel free to PM me or ask here!! I'll just start by saying that it really depends on what type of wedding you are looking for whether you should pick the RIU Bachata or not...it was great for our low-key...no planning involved wedding! We had the free wedding & didn't have a reception. Looking back I think I would have preferred doing more...but that was my choice & no reflection on the Bachata itself. It was a beautiful location, with nice rooms & good food! Once I see more of the carribean I will definitely go back! Again...if you are looking for anything specific, let me know!!
