I'm not 100% sure which resort she is referring to.

I think a review of your experience is necessary to help out other brides, I hope you post one.

No problem - any questions, just let me know! I think we've talked about this before...but let me know if there's anything else! wink.gif

Ladies - I was at the Riu Mambo for our first anniversary in November. This hotel is NOT a 4-star as advertised. It is, however, part of a threesome of resorts (Riu Merenge and Riu Bachata being the other two). The Riu Bachata (just down the beach) is much nicer, and has better facilities. There was a wedding at the Riu Mambo while we were there, and it was very low-key. If this is what you have in mind, and you're not looking for too many bells and whistles ('cause you won't find them at Riu Mambo), then you won't be too disappointed.

Kimberbrooke - I will not be writing a review of my wedding. But if you have any questions...please feel free to PM me or ask here!! I'll just start by saying that it really depends on what type of wedding you are looking for whether you should pick the RIU Bachata or not...it was great for our low-key...no planning involved wedding! We had the free wedding & didn't have a reception. Looking back I think I would have preferred doing more...but that was my choice & no reflection on the Bachata itself. It was a beautiful location, with nice rooms & good food! Once I see more of the carribean I will definitely go back! Again...if you are looking for anything specific, let me know!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
