Thank you all ladies...I'm here laughing and smiling....especially about the Halle Berry comment!! The way my mother's friend kept insisting that I get another neckline...I began to think that I was making a huge mistake.

I will take your advice and try on all types of dresses. I like the idea of a halter dress too as was suggested here. I've seen how brides often think that they want one thing and then wind up with another on shows like "Say Yes to the Dress."

And yes Debbmach...40 IS the new 30!!

It is YOUR day; don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't wear!!! Whatever you feel comfortable in, you should def rock down the aisle. I too am big busted & I wore a strapless sweatheart gown & I don't think it was too revealing, I actually think it did wonders to hold the girls in their place, lol. Def buy what makes you feel the best; you may go in with an idea in your head & end up going in the complete opposite direction (which is what I did.) You will know when you put on THE dress, so good luck & don't listen to anyone, go with your gut!!

Oh come on Bride Danielle! You are the BRIDE!!! Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous and looking good!!!

You can try Strapless A-line, Strapless Mermaid, Strapless Trumpet or Strapless Sheath, Strapless Ball Gown & even Strapless Cocktail Dress! It isn't like there is only one style of Strapless gown. Also you can try on different material (lace/silk/chiffon) and play with different accessories! There got to be something that looks flattering on YOU!!!

          Ignore the "fashionista"!

I agree with everyone else. Try on different styles. I am also a plus size bride, 2nd time around and in my late 40's and I plan on wearing a strapless, sweetheart neckline, but I do plan on trying other styles as well. Can't wait to see what you decided on.

            Have fun!!!!!!!!!

Just have to chime in - I am 40 as well and will be getting married in a strapless gown. YOUR WEDDING - YOUR CHOICE
Unless she's buying your dress for you, thank her for her input and move on.

Glad to see that many of you have the same plan as I do and are planning to also wear a strapless gown. Well..we go gown shopping Saturday and I'm looking forward to it...I will be armed with my favorite strapless corsette to hold the girls in and cinch in my tummy...I hope that does the trick as I plan to eat well today!!

Thanks again and have a great Thanksgiving!!

As long as your not "falling out" of your dress then I say go for it! I am a little chesty & chose a deep v neckline because it is my style! It's whatever makes you feel like you!!

I agree with the girls.... go with what makes you feel good!! Won't it feel great to hear them say "WOW" at your dress!! Choose whatever dress makes you feel sexy... there is no age limit on a dress for god sakes, who decided THAT? Knock their socks off girl!!
