Strapless Gown- Age Inappropriate?

Recommended Posts

Thank you all ladies...I'm here laughing and smiling....especially about the Halle Berry comment!! The way my mother's friend kept insisting that I get another neckline...I began to think that I was making a huge mistake.

I will take your advice and try on all types of dresses. I like the idea of a halter dress too as was suggested here. I've seen how brides often think that they want one thing and then wind up with another on shows like "Say Yes to the Dress."

And yes Debbmach...40 IS the new 30!!

It is YOUR day; don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't wear!!! Whatever you feel comfortable in, you should def rock down the aisle. I too am big busted & I wore a strapless sweatheart gown & I don't think it was too revealing, I actually think it did wonders to hold the girls in their place, lol. Def buy what makes you feel the best; you may go in with an idea in your head & end up going in the complete opposite direction (which is what I did.) You will know when you put on THE dress, so good luck & don't listen to anyone, go with your gut!!

You can try Strapless A-line, Strapless Mermaid, Strapless Trumpet or Strapless Sheath, Strapless Ball Gown & even Strapless Cocktail Dress! It isn't like there is only one style of Strapless gown. Also you can try on different material (lace/silk/chiffon) and play with different accessories! There got to be something that looks flattering on YOU!!!

Ignore the "fashionista"!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
