So, I've been packing all morning since I leave middle of this week, and I'm sooo terrified that I am going to forget something!  Plus, I'm so indecisive about what to take, so I have way more piled on the bed than I really need to take!

make sure you check off EVERYTHING for the day of...shoes, dress, veil, shoes, hairpiece, flowers, jewelry, garter, under garments...i'm putting all of these things in my dress bag!! except the shoes but those will go in my carry-on. could you imagine if your luggage got lost!!!!!

sooooo....one of my bridesmaids cancelled on me yesterday! THREE weeks before the wedding, WTF!!!  i know it's a lot of money, but i gave them 14 months to plan and save for this trip. i told them each up front that if they thought there was ANY chance they couldnt afford it, then i would completely understand and i would miss them, but it would be ok for them to not be a BM.  all three said, no we're definately coming no matter what. and now, so close to the wedding, one of them bails?? and this is one of my oldest friendships....we've been friends for 10 years!!i don't understand how you can commit to being in someone's wedding, not as a guest but a PART of the wedding, and then just say you can't go...three weeks before the event.

on another note:  i wanted to surprise FI with a business class upgrade; just got off the phone with Delta and the lady was trying to charge me $950 per person ON TOP OF the $350 we already spent on tickets!!! i'm sorry, but i've flown business class before and it is NOT worth $1300 for a 2 hour flight!!!!  especially when the flight isn't even half full!!!  when we went to cancun last year at the same time, they were offering upgrades at the gate for $70 per person (this was airtran though).  has anyone ever tried to upgrade delta tickets at the gate?

Yeah, I have every little thing listed, and I think I have it all together.  At least we're driving to NY, so I don't have to worry about lost luggage on a flight.

I'm sorry to hear that your BM bailed.  You would think she would have known before now that she wouldn't be able to make it.  Was her reasoning the price, or did something else come up?  I'm guessing she has known for awhile but didn't want to say anything.

$950 is WAAAAY too much to pay for an upgrade.  I've never had an upgrade, but I know that it shouldn't cost that much to fly business class.

I cannot believe that we are all under the 20 day mark! So exciting!

Carolina...sorry to hear about your bridesmaid, that just stinks! Sometimes friends think they are doing the right thing by not telling us bad news sooner...if only they understood the stress they add by waiting so long.

We don't leave for tulum till Thursday the 23rd, but I took off Tuesday and Wednesday to pack, etc. I've sent a ton down to my family in Florida to pack for me. Mostly the welcome bag stuff. My third fitting is on the 14th and other than that, I'm pretty much ready to go. I'm so excited and nervous.

Love to you all!!!

Carolina - So Sorry to hear about your BM. For the life of me I don't understand that last minute crap! All you can do is move forward.

I am really worried about how to pack my carry-on, I have to figure out what gets put in that 21" bag. I wonder what I will forget? I am also worried about all the OOT bag stuff, I don't want it to get lost. I worry about making sure everyone has a good time, but staying within my budget (not). I am having a pretty simple wedding, no real reception just a dinner. I hope they don't get bored - I am totally blowing my budget on a Mexican Trio!  So, while I worry about all of this I want to enjoy the whole thing. I was supposed to NOT WORRY.

Well, I leave on the 14th and we get married on the 18th! I will say I am really getting excited also! All of you ladies are such a blessing! THANKS!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
