Hi ladies!! So excited to find this thread!!! I'm getting married on September 18th at Dreams Riviera Cancun!!

I just went through all the posts - you ladies are really on the ball! I feel like time has seriously flown by! One minute I'm a year away from the wedding and it feels like forever and the next thing I know I feel like it's around the corner and I have so much to do.

So far...I've sent out Save the Dates (August of last year), ordered my dress, found my shoes, found my earrings, found my fiance's wedding day attire and we are mailing our invitations this week! YAY!

I still have to order bridesmaid dresses - so hard - my girls are scattered across the country and one is in Italy so getting thier measurements and finding a place for them to try the dresses on took way longer then I expected. But we're getting there!

felt the exact same way about diy projects - I'm totally not crafty (so we ordered save the dates and invitations) but then I did one little project...the table cards and they looked cute! so now I'm inspired...but my advice is just start with something simple to build up your confidence thewave.gif

Hi there!

So glad to find this thread. I am getting married September 22nd at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero Cuba. I can't wait. Apparently this is a new resort just opened in Sept 2009. I was just wondering what all of you are putting in your OOT bags? I ordered travel mugs with our names and date, when I get them I'll post a picture.

Hi Ladies! its been awhile since i've checked in with you guys! man you ladies are moving along nicely!

Carolina, I am taking your advice and trying to focus on one thing at a time and not get too overwhelmed. I purchased my invitations. They are the print yourself kind from AC Moore, very simple but I'll jazz it up with my own touches :)

My dress came in, ahhhh!! I was hoping to be about 20lbs lighter when it came in but now i realize its go time and I got my butt on the treadmill and I've lost 5 pounds so far!!

This all still doesn't seem real! anyone else feel that way?? lol

you've lost 5 lbs already?? I need to get on that couch25k program, I say I'm gonna start every week and i never do, but it's crunch time!!!

YES YES YES, i still don't believe it's really happening!!! when we got engaged in july, it was like 14 months away and now....148 days to go...a little over 4 months...holy crap!!!

btw make sure you post pics of your dress :) it's so exciting that i'll know somebody there, this site is great wink.gif

Mrs Timpone - congrats on losing 5 lbs!

I got an email today! My dress came in!!!!! I'm in the same boat - I planned to be about 10lbs lighter by the time my dress came in and last month I realized I had gained 4lbs...

So now I drag myself to the gym 6 days a week so hopefully by my first fitting I'll be closer to where I wanted to be!

I actually think now that my dress is here...this is all seeming really really real! So exciting!

I leave for my site visit one week from today also - I can't wait, I need a vacation and I need my wedding coordinator to answer my million questions!

My gosh, you all are doing great with your weight loss goals. Congratulations!! I'm down 6 and hoping for another 6 by the end of the month.

I am way behind all of you with my dress search...my appointments are at the end of the month. I'm not that worried about timing (want something beachy and simple), but do feel some pressure seeing that you all are on first/second fittings. :o) Oops.

I've got everything else pretty much done, or on track, but I've been procrastinating with the dress. I have so much stress about this and I am honestly not looking foward to trying on dresses. I'm sure that I'm freaking out for nothing and that it will actually be a wonderful experience. I find that, over the past three weeks, I've been stressing over things for no reason (just too much on my plate with wedding, work and daily life).

The one bad thing about planning a destination wedding (for me) is that I'm constantly second guessing myself...I go in one direction and then think something else might be better. I did a mini table/centerpiece mockup the other day and my fiance and his family loved it (it is pretty) and all I could do was see the flaws. I've planning tons of events in the past, but never for myself. I am my worst client ever! I would love to have extra cash to hire a wedding coordinator.

All of this is putting me in the worst funk. I know I'll get over it. I think the diet of only 800 calories a day is partly to blame. Ha ha. Thanks for listening...it is nice to just get it out there. Just a little wedding/life breakdown.

xoxo,

tt

I don't think you're the only one second guessing yourself taranyc. I know that the more I look at something, the more I pick out the flaws. I've decided though to just go with my gut. I would stress out too much if I kept changing everything!

Good luck finding a dress too! I wouldn't worry so much about having waited until now. Lots of people plan weddings in just a few months, so I think you are good. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
