March 2010 Brides

    I think we need to start a March 2010 bride thread. I feel like I am doing ok with all of my planning, except for getting my invites out. Curious where everyone else is at in the planning process?

    So far I have both of my dresses, a few OOT things, centerpieces, shoes, wedding and honeymoon trip booked, and chair covers. I have good ideas on my flowers and how I want the ceremony set up as well....

    How about you??

      My wedding is March 13 and as of this weekend I am done Planning. I had my major planning phone call. I was on the phone for 2 hours and after that I had my invoice and I was only $150 over budget. I my dress came in at the end of Aug and I will have my first fitting the third week in Jan. My OOT bags are done.

      I feel like I am forgetting things. I read all these thread and everyone is taking so much with them. What are the reason behide that? Do resort not offer those thing? Are their price crazy high or do you just want your own touch on your wedding?

        Mine is March 13 too .. and my head is spinning lol from the little things I need to do ...

        I'm having problems with my reception idea .. finding what I need is becoming a task ..

          Does your resort not offer a reception idea or do you just want something diff then what they are offering? What are you looking for?

            Wow Jennifer...you are way further along than I am! I need to get cracking!! I think a lot of people are taking their stuff with them, including me, just because I know exactly what I want and they are a bit different. The chair covers were pretty cheap from here and then i will sell them once i get back...will not cost anything. Since we are gone for 2 weeks and paying for my FI's 2 kids to go with, we are trying to cut costs everywhere we can! :-)

            How much stuff do you have for you OOT bags?

            What are you looking for your reception? We keep going back and forth on paying to have it on the beach or just having it in one of the restaurants...

              I am doing one bag per couple. In my OOT bags I have the following:
              2 TOWELS
              2 MUG
              DECK OF CARDS
              2 PALM TREE PEN
              2 KOOZIES
              2 HAND HELD FANS
              SUN SCREEN
              ALOE VERA
              HAND SANITIZER
              1ST AID KIT
              HANG OVER KIT

                My reception is poolside and I wanted to create a lounge around the pool, in addition tothe tables, but the lounge furniture is what Im having a hard time finding.

                  Hi Ladies

                  I feel WAY behind in my planning. I haven't done anything. I've sent out my save the dates, purchased my dress, and sort of picked out my invitations - but that's all. I only have 8 of my oot bags made - and that's just the actual bags. I have NO clue what I'm putting in them. My mom and I are going down to Jamaica next month and I'll make most of my decisions then. What else should I be doing??

                    Hi A2...thanks for starting this! i wanted to start one too. So you haven't sent out your invites....brave girl! hehehe you must be getting a really good rate booking it so late in the game? i sent out my invites in August for our March 9th wedding.
                    As for planning, i'm trying to keep it simple cause i don't want to stress the day of the wedding or during the week. So as for me, i have my OOT bags still in the works, we are making shirts for a group event we are going to do at the resort, and a CD of our fav songs ( i love homemade cds as a gift) as well as some mardi gras beads for another group event at the resort, along witht he welcome letter and stuff. we have all of our outfits ready for the wedding and the day planned out. we are having our dinner in a restaurant and then the dance on the beach! yay!
                    So excited! 100 days until we leave!

                      I sent out our STD a few months back, so they all know it is coming. :-) We really need to get cracking on the invites though!! I am still trying to figure things out as far as OOT bags go, have a few things but I am sure I need a ton more!! I love the mardi gras beads idea!! What is the group outing you are planning?? Just realized we are staying in the same town (diff dates though) but Runaway Bay! :-)
