I think it depends on what you want. I'm pretty small too, with almost 2 carat oval diamond with smaller diamonds set in the band on each side. Then I have a wedding band for each side of my ering that's full of diamonds. So if i were going to tell you what I would get if I were you -it would def be DIAMONDS! But you are the one that has to wear it, so get what you want. Go out and try all kinds of bands on with your ering and see how you feel about it. You might surprise yourself and like the diamonds, or you might KNOW for a fact that you want a plain band.

Plus tell your FI that you may want to upgrade later to a diamond band. That might appease him if he really wants you to have diamonds.

Btw - my mother gave me my Nana's wedding band and it's a plain wide yellow gold band and it looks gorgeous. So I like my extra bling on somedays, and a more subtle look on other days. That might be an option for you.

I would get what you like. I had a similar problem (if you can call it that) with my FI: I wanted a few small diamonds in my wedding band and he was all set to go big- and it would have been too much IMO. I put him off by suggesting an aniversary ring (for my right hand) in a few years and I told him I didn't want anything that "took away" from my engagement ring.

Try both kinds one. I was trying on rings this past weekend and I thought I knew what I wanted, but turns out what I thought I wanted didn't look right.

There are a lot of options that have smaller diamonds set down in the band, or scattered so they are not right in your face that you might find you like.

In the end...go with what you want!

And I agree with the fact that you can always get an anniverdary band down the road...maybe next year wink.gif

I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted for a wedding band (eternity band with tons of DIAMONDS!) Turns out that when I tried one on with my e-ring (which sounds very similar to yours) the diamond band didn't sit as nice and I found that it took away from the beautiful diamond in my e-ring.

I suggest that you don't make a decision (or argue with the FI) until you have tried on a few different styles.......then you will know what think looks best on you. Good luck and let us know what you decide!

My wedding band is a band of diamonds and my ering band is diamonds. If I had been the one to choose my ering I would have had the bottom plain and the wedding band diamonds half way round as well. However I have both rings and they are stunning.. very flashy!! I think you should get what you want and if he really loves the band of diamonds he can get you one for your 5th anniversary.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
