Ok the one thing that went wrong on our wedding day involved the spa...it had nothing to do with how the hair or makeup was done...it came out awesome! The problem was there were only 2 people doing our hair and makeup and there were 6 of us getting hair/makeup. My wedding was at noon and we started at 8am getting everything done...i was done first and then the BM's. My mom and DH's mom were last and at noon when i was supposed to be walking down the aisle they were still sitting in the chair getting their hair done!! All of our guests and DH were outside in the heat waiting! We finally started the wedding almost an hour late! Make sure you schedule plenty of time to get hair/makeup if you have a few people that are getting it done.

Here are the prices:

Brides Hair- $105

BM Hair - $85

Makeup -$51

Also you should book the appointments before you go down there. You pay 50% down payment for all the services you book and then pay the rest when you get down there.

Here is the email address of the spa manager:

  • 1 month later...

I agree with Geralyn and Maureen.

The major glitch I had was with the spa as well. There were two weddings double booked for the same time slots. And there were only two people to do hair, manicures, pedicures and make-up. There were four people that needed services with my wedding at 2pm and something like 6 people with the 4pm wedding. And, they made me wait while they worked on the 4pm wedding. And, both me and the other bride had booked in advance and had confirmations. So, I want to caution that even pre-booking isn't a gaurantee. You may want to call down there and communicate with the team at the specific location - in addition to booking in advance.

I unfortunately hated how they did my hair (it was nothing like what I asked for and was exactly what I told them I did not want) and I was extremely rushed to get ready for my wedding since I had to spend nearly an hour fixing what they had done. It took an hour becuase my MOH and I are horrible with hair.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
