Getting anxious

So here are my random thoughts. My stomach is in knots. I haven't seen my FI in about a month and a half and he's getting ready to come down for TG Day, our TTD(my $100 TTD Dress) and my 30th bday. Im ecstatic, nervous, afraid. You see i never thought being in a long distance relationship would be this hard. I mean i knew it would need alot of work and TLC but I never in my life imagined to fall in love with a man whom i would have to be apart from for so long. Its been a year since we got engaged and now that i think about all the hard times throughout the years of this relationship, all the traveling(Jet Blue has it made with us!), all the tears every time we had to part and all the issues that arise with being in a long distance relationship it feels that its all coming to an end somewhat.

With the time restrictions that we have job wise we have decided to leave the HM plans for our first year anniversary and save the money to buy our new home in NY and save the vacation days to go on a Disney vacation as a family in July. After we are married Stephen and I must face the challenges once again of a long distance relationship for 6 more months. I dont know how I will be during those months. I dont know how I will feel after saying I do and having to kiss my husband goodbye Tuesday morning knowing i will not see him until the AHR is March and then leaving him again until May when we can finally be a family together. These are sacrifices we have chosen to endure but I cant wait until the day when we dont have to leave each others side anymore and say goodbye.

Wow, it sounds like you have a really, strong and sound relationship. That is amazing, and I'm so glad that you have made it work. It takes an extremely strong and committed couple to make something like this turn into marriage, and I am so happy for you!

Stay strong...it's only 6 more months. Probably a drop in the bucket comparted to what you have been through.

And it's not even 6! You get to split it up. Jan-Wedding--2 months later to MARCH! AHR! 2 more months until May! It will all be here before you know it. Best of luck!!

Hang in there, it will be fine! You'll have an amazing time during the TTD and just think of all of the amazing emotions that both of you will be displaying in front of the camera - all that love, happiness and hope - the photos will be incredible!

And as for the rest, time goes by quickly. It might be hard, but it's not going to be like that for ever!

I agree with LadyTrunck...take it one section at a time so it doesn't seem sooo long. Another tip: don't put too much pressure on each other to have everything be perfect as soon as you're finally together. I've been in the same situation and when we were finally in the same town, it took some adjustment that we weren't expecting.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
