Young Ring Bearer

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies - I did a search, but didn't really find what I'm looking for.

I really want a ring bearer for our wedding - my sister had a baby in April, so when we get married this coming April, my only nephew will be 1 year old.

I don't think he'll be walking on his own yet, let alone old enough to understand what he is supposed to do. But I still want him to have that role.

My question is - how do I have such a young child pull off this role? I don't really want my BIL to carry/walk him down the aisle - but my sister is my MOH - would it look weird to have her walk him down the aisle?

I was at a wedding this summer where the bride had her infant (6 months) as the ring bearer, and one of the junior bridesmaids pulled him down the aisle in a wagon (in his car seat) with the rings on a pillow in front of him. It was super cute, but I don't think Lincoln would sit so nicely in a wagon - he's a bit old for that. I also don't want to cart a wagon down to Cuba.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

My flower girl was 9 months at our wedding. Her mom was my MOH and what we did was have her dad "walk" with her down the aisle with her basket of petals. In the end, she wanted to walk by herself and so he held the basket in front of her while helping her walk...it was adorable, seeing as how she wasn't quite able to walk without assistance, but really marched along. He ended up throwing the petals himself and it was really cute.

I think whatever you decide will be fine. Little kids make weddings so cute.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
