Disappointed

This is probably going to get me banned, but I just wanted to say how offended and disappointed I am in regards to this forum. I've posted maybe three or four threads, at which point I was sternly told by two mods to stop wasting everyone's time.

 

I was really excited to tell my story as to how I finally found my dress, and my thread was 'closed'. I'm older, and everyone I know is married already, so I guess I was using this forum as a surrogate 'girlfriend'. I'm pretty hurt by what transpired.

 

If you guys don't want people to post threads about things that have been discussed previously, and want people JUST to search topics, then maybe you should just close the forum entirely.

 

Maybe this will cause me to be banned, or maybe it will just be taken as feedback, but I feel like I was treated as a second class citizen while I learned how this whole system worked.

 

I found my dress, not that anyone even cares.

Wow sorry you feel that way. I do have to disagree with you though. This site, at least in my opinion, has been very helpful in my planning. I find that the people I've come across have been so forthcoming with their advise and opinions.

That is weird that a post about you finding your dress would be closed. Did you post your introduction prior to the other posts? Otherwise that may be why.

I agree with the first "Wow"....its too bad that happened...I know I am not very adept at this forum either and have sent some PM's to the mods and they have sent me really helpful info on how to move around. Sorry you are having a bad experience....if you do come back, I would like to see your dress too! It may feel like you are asking for attention....but we all are - that is why we are here. To share with each other and not drive everyone else in out lives nuts!

This forum has been nothing but a great resource, support etc for me, I'm so sorry that you feel this way! I cannot speak for anyone else, but this is definitely my surrogate girlfriend as well. My best friends don't live anywhere near me, and my poor FI has heard probably more than he can sanely handle.

 

Maybe you are posting in the wrong places? Have you tried to PM a mod?

 

As the other BDWs posted, I would love to see your dress! We live for pics on here

I am an older bride as well and I have found that this site have been a great resource for information about the planning of my wedding, DIY projects, and a great support/sounding board for me.

 

I have to say that I have been treated like one of the girls and welcomed! let us see your dress and give us a chance.

awww I'm really sorry that you feel that way. I know when I first started here, I had NO idea what I was doing. It can be intimidating to know all the rules, where to post, etc. Once you learn it all and get used to it, it's such a great place!

 

Let's see that dress girl!! and btw, I am getting married in Jamaica too. Where are you getting married?
