Carnival Liberty Brides

Hello Ladies! I am looking at multiple Carnival cruise itineraries, but am so lost in all the different ports and how this would work. Is it cheapest to get married on the ship(at port or at sea), at a port(not by cruise line), or do you have other suggestions? ANY info will help to be better prepared for the stress of picking a specific itinerary. Message me! To get a better feel of US as a couple, here is our wedding website. http://elizabethandbilly.ourwedding.com He proposed on an Alaskan cruise (Thru Princess Cruises) back in June and we definatly want something beautiful for our wedding cruise!

I think it depends what you want for your day and how many people you are having. We are having 79 guests and I wanted to bring my own photographer and really be able to customize my wedding day - so I opted to use an on-island co-ordinator (Island Bliss Weddings in St Thomas - can't say enough good things about Janelle, the owner) and we rented the ships Steakhouse out for the entire evening (renting half is optional as well but we needed the whole space with so many guests). Doing it this way will cost us about $7200 (rough estimate) including ceremony, reception & alcohol.

Wow you all write such wonderful reviews!! I am getting married on the Carnival Liberty in April this year (2012)  I am doing the dinner package with the wedding in Miami before we leave port so we doing have the opportunity to do hair/nails/makup on board, but rather have to come completly ready except for dresses and tux's... Its a small wedding with only 7 adults and 2 children, but I am wondering what reviews you have of the dinner one, or the food on Liberty in general?  The dinner is in the main dining room. also any advice on hair/nails in Fort Lauderdale?

Hi! I am new to this site, but have been enjoying all the tips!

We are getting married in December 2012 on the Liberty. Our ceremony will be in St. Thomas on Lime Tree beach. It is arranged by Royal Wed which we booked through carnival. Does anyone have any reviews or suggestions about this?

Also we are using their photographer as we are prohibited from bringing our own. This makes me super nervous since I do not know the quality of the pictures!! Does any have experience with the on cruise photographers??

Our reception will be in the Cabinet Lounge with the piano player. First we booked the DJ and had the disco lounge but then realized the theme was tattooed arms and legs which they never mentioned!!

Has anyone been to the Cabinet Lounge and/or heard the piano player??

Any advice would be appreciated because I seem to be receiving very vague information from the wedding/ceremony coordinators :)

Hey just FYI, the legs/arms aren't tattooed anymore. They're all silver now after the 2.0 drydock.

The cabinet lounge is plush but a bit dark. The piano bar is a giant piano. Literally - all black and white, with a spinning piano in the middle. It's not bad, but it's definitely a piano bar. Plus it's a smoking lounge and not very private. The cabinet is probably the most private venue.

You can bring your own photog if you want, you just have to sign a waiver. But I've seen and heard really good things about ships photogs, they usually do a good job, but the prices are high (probably not any higher than bringing your own).

Good luck!

I had such a great experience.  I definately found upgrading to a suite useful.  The extra space that it gives you really makes a difference when getting ready on your wedding day.  It has a nice mirrored dressed area.

There is no makeup artist on the ship so go to MAC or somewhere like it, and learn to apply your own makeup or bring someone who can do it for you.  I was MORE than happy with my hair stylist.  I can't remember HIS name but I think it was the only male in the salon.

A great OOT bag or as we did favor idea is monogrammed beach towels in your wedding color.  Our guests used them out and around the pools so even if they weren't at their chair you could see where people were set up.  (Carnival's towels and a navy color).

That's all I can think of....

Hello!

I know this is old and hopefully you get to read this, but I was wondering, did you book your hair appoitment before you boarded the ship or after?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
