I went online and found old funny photos of bridesmaids from different eras and got the pics printed up and made cards for my friends. I also wrote each one (4 in total) a letter and told them how important they were to me and reminded them of a funny story from our past and that we would pay for their dresses as a gift to them then I mailed them out. They were all surprised because I led on for about 2 months after we got engaged that we hadn't made any decisions about plans yet, even though I was planning to ask them all along! A couple girls said they even cried it was so sweet and they were so suprised. Even my one friends husband told me she was so touched she cried...and that it meant a lot to her. I said well it's not everyday you get to tell your friends how important they are to you and what an impact they have had on your life...i figured now was a good time.

Yeah I asked one of mine BM's in person, one over the phone and the other (who is in Korea) by email. Pretty lame. But I hadn't joined the forum at this time so I didn't have a ton of great ideas at my disposal and I am clearly creatively challenged. Luckily they didn't have high expectations!

I purchased these BM cards from Etsy:

CUSTOM Thank you for being my Bridesmaid by FinePrintsDesign

FYI:

Oops, link is for "thank your for being my bridesmaid," but they look just like the one listed on the link! I couldn't find the other one!

If I wouldn't have purchased these, I found really cool wedding paper at Hobby Lobby and Party City (I don't know if you have these stores where you live or not). You could purchase your own paper & make up a poem or just ask "will u be my bridesmaid?"

I didn't even get a chance to ask them, lol They live in TO and I in Mtl and a couple weeks after I got engaged I had a planned visit to see them so waited to announce my engagement then. They were all excited about our engagement, and then made comments like- ''don't make us wear anything pouffy!'' haha. So yeah, it was assumed. But I was gonna pick them anyway.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
