Riu is truly a beautiful resort. Like I mentioned before, it was just a little bit more of a party atmosphere than we wanted for our wedding, but it would be a very close second choice!

youre the best. I'm sure I'll come up with a few ideas of things I want to see. That never seems to be a problem with me. ha ha. I'm so glad you took so many pics. Actually do you have any of the poolbar, and the gazebo area. I've seen pics of them before but I often wonder what they might look like on a normal (not picture perfect) day for a vacationer.

Hey Jackie- Karla just posted an awesome slideshow under the "Riu" thread that has some pics of the gazebo in it- check it out!
I gotta stop looking at Riu wedding pics, it makes me want to get married there!

Sarah,
Ya I just saw those. They are awesome. I know I think we are pretty set on the Riu but mainly because of its location. I'm thinking there will be a lot of trips into town and I believe its a bit closer and cheaper to get there from Riu. If Dreams were closer I'd pick Dreams. It seems that brides around here have had much better planning with Dreams than Riu, and they are both equally as beautiful in regards to scenery/pictures/etc..

Riu is very convenient to town. You could almost walk (if you really wanted your exercise!). One thing we liked about Riu is that you could walk up the beach to The Office, Tabascos, easily get a water taxi, etc. It was a nice location!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
