Dreams & Riu are the nicest. Another one to check out though, is the Presidente Intercontinental. It is located in San Jose Del Cabo and is the farthest north resort of the Los Cabos tourist area. We stayed there for 3 of our 7 day scouting trip in September. It is smaller & quieter, than Dreams & Riu. The grounds are very pretty and the service is excellent. The food was not so fantastic, but it would be worth checking out. Almost right next door is the Royal Solaris, and the Crowne Plaza is right down the road.

Another thing to consider when deciding between these 5 is the location. Presidente, Royal Solaris and Crowne Plaza are in San Jose del Cabo, Dreams is along the corridor of Los Cabos and Riu Palace is in Cabo San Lucas.

We stayed at Riu for 4 days and loved it- there are many Riu brides on here that can probably help you if you have questions about that property.

We chose Dreams for our wedding for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it had the wedding gazebo that we wanted, the quieter location and the ambience of the resort.

Let us know how else we can help! If you want to see some pictures of Riu, Dreams, or Presidente there are some spread around on the forum, or let me know and I'd be glad to email you some.

Hey Sarah,
would you mind sending me the pics of the hotels. We think we are picking Riu because of its location but are still not positive. Thanks

There's also Sol Melia Cabo Real (on the corridor next to the Hilton and Casa del Mar) which you should definitely check out as well. It shares the same swimmable beach as the Hilton and while we didn't end up doing the tour with the coordinator I do have contact info if you're interested (send me a Private message if you want the name/number and I'll dig it out for you). These websites have some comprehensive lists:

http://www.loscabosguide.com/hotels/inclusive.htm

http://www.allinclusivescabo.com

This is what the second website lists and my opinions:

San Jose del Cabo:

El President Intercontinental - Very nice

Royal Solaris Los Cabos - terrible

Crowne Plaza (formerly Faro del Cabo) - ??

Grand Baja Resort & Spa - A friend stayed here and loved it

Fiesta Inn - no idea

Corridor Resorts:

Dreams Los Cabos

Sol Melia Cabo Real - very nice - great for golfers

Calinda Beach Resort - never heard of it but only a "3 star" and this is Mexico.

Cabo San Lucas Resorts:

RIU Palace

Costa Real Resort (downtown) - never heard of it

Jackie- I just posted some pics of Riu under the Cabo Accomodation and Site category. The ones I posted are some of my "better" pictures, let me know there is something in particular you wanted to see. We took over 400 pictures of our various locations and activities, so you never know, I might have it!

Thanks Sarah,
youre the best. I'm sure I'll come up with a few ideas of things I want to see. That never seems to be a problem with me. ha ha. I'm so glad you took so many pics. Actually do you have any of the poolbar, and the gazebo area. I've seen pics of them before but I often wonder what they might look like on a normal (not picture perfect) day for a vacationer.

Those are actually two things I don't have pics of from Riu, but they are both really pretty areas!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
