Reception spot

Recommended Posts

If you had your reception at a resort that you were married at. Where did you decide to have your wedding reception at? Our where are you choosing to have it at?

I have a couple of different chooses at the dreams resort beach, pool terrace, deck terrace, or the desires club terrace. Any suggestions would be wonderful. I thought I would do it on the beach. But then I started thinking about lighting and sand in the food and kind of changed my mind.

Thanks

Megan

We were going to have our reception on the terrace at Dreams in Cancun but decided to have it on the Beach. We thought about why we wanted to get married in Mexico in the first place was because of the ocean and beach and what a great way to celebrate than in the sand. We are going to rent the dance floor - those brides that have done it on the beach have loved it.

I wanted it on the beach, however to cut costs I believe we will probably have it at one of the resaurants. Although I never thought about the sand being in the food and such. I would think it would be far enough away that you wouldn't have that problem. I just think a beach wedding and beach reception sound so beautiful and amazing. Truth is, no matter where you have your reception it will be gorgeous.

One question is if you plan on having dancing at your reception? It may be difficult to "pound down" the sand or dance in the sand...just food for thought. Good luck!

That is what I keep going back too. I wanted to get married in Mexico because of the beach. I might just stick to the beach I dont know it is so hard to decide.

My FI keep saying we should just have our reception in one of the resturants. It kills him that we have to pay so much for food when it is a all inclusive resort.
I have been thinking about if it would look funny or even hard to dance in the sand. I hope some ladies that have already been married will let me know what they think.

Thanks for the responses.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
