HI MarriednMex!! That is the date I tried to get!!!!  Hahaha! When did you reserve---I just got engaged about 2 weeks ago so I am behind on most planning--though it is still working out!  We decided on Monday the 18th so we are right after you.  Wow!  80 people, 39 rooms!!  We decided to not do all-inclusive for guests so we will be at the Marriott.  Undecided for honeymoon---have you chosen?  Best wishes!

I will ask this other company about the tax and whether or not they're allowed to go into the marina. We're departing from the marina in Nuevo Vallarta, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi,

I'm getting married on Nov. 21, 2012 and just settled our contract with Las Caletas and we were charged $13.50 per person plus the $2 marina tax, so it is actually $15.50 US you are paying for transportation :(  They have actually increased the prices for a lot of things since I was sent a price list in June 2012!

Hello,

I got married last year in June and was stressing about the transportation also. Two things we did...we stayed at the Westin and so did all of the guests. They sent the boat right to us at a small Marina right at the end of the driveway at the westin..didn't have to pay for a ride there or back..so if you stay in that area..Westin/Melia...something to consider. Also we did a welcome dinner..and the hotel just called us cabs for all of us. Some were vans. I think it ended up costing me $200 total for everyone to get a ride to River Cafe downtown and back. So it was great...just some thoughts for the budget friendly brides.

Thanks Choeft21! Wow, that's a nice alternative to get picked up right at your hotel, we're too far and it's way too late for us to plan something like that.

Regarding the permit and marina fees:

Superior Vallarta Tours got back to me and answered my questions. They told me they have all the permits they need (it's similar to the permits taxi's need to get into the airpot). She also told me they're registered with the Mexican Department of Tourism and even gave me their registration number. Regarding the port fees -she said it only applies in the marina in Puerto Vallarta. The marina in Nuevo Vallarta is in a different state and there are no fees there.

Hey HappyBride13-

We booked over a year and half ago!  My fiance and I have been together for awhile and always said we would get married on President's Day Weekend 2013.  We booked early so we could make sure friends and family could save for the trip.

We aren't doing a honeymoon after our wedding. We are going for a full week for the wedding and we have a 2.5 year old and our lil man will be 6 months when we get married and it was too much to ask family to watch/travel back home with our kiddos after a week of partying!

Wow, great info!  We're definitely going to look into doing this as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
