Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

I'm wondering if you hire the DJ, is it "rude" to give him/her an exact playlist of songs? My FI and I are both big on music and have a bunch of songs that we would be bummed if we didn't hear. Has anyone else done this?

I don't think it's rude at all. It's your wedding and you want to enjoy it. I was planning on doing the same thing. We have actually started making a "wedding" playlist now.

Has anyone used just an ipod to play songs?  Kelley has explained the emcee is a separate person, so the ipod would just need to be stopped/re-started during certain points of the wedding (I would assume by someone attending the wedding).  I was also thinking about this option as we are in 100% control of the music being played and can already have "mixes" ready to go.

We used the DJ Kelley had and he was amazing... we gave Kelley a list about a week before our wedding.  He played exactly what was on our list... we didn't have to provide any of the music.  After dinner he played all kinds of modern/hip dance music, which was exactly what we wanted.  It was perfect!  Here is the list we gave them:

Ceremony

Prelude

Dave Matthews Band- You & Me

Jack Johnson- Better Together

Bryan Adams- Everything I Do

Frank Sinatra- Come Fly With Me

Amos Lee- Sweet Pea

The Jerk- Tonight You Belong To Me

Processional

Somewhere Over the Rainbow- Israel K

Brandon (Groom) seats Dorothy (Mom)

JB (Best Man) seats Grandma

Candi (Maid of Honor)

Elvis (Ring Bearer)

Angel (Flower Girl)

Sea of Love- Cat Powers

Jaime (Bride), with Greg and Vivia (Parents)

Recessional

Dean Martin- Ainâ€t That A Kick In the Head

Cocktail Hour & Dinner (Big Band/Rat Pack type music)

Frank Sinatra- Iâ€ve Got You Under My Skin

Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole- Unforgettable

Dean Martin- Memories Are Made of This

Bobby Darin- Beyond The Sea

Frank Sinatra- The Way You Look Tonight

Nat King Cole- L-O-V-E

Dean Martin- Everybody Love Somebody

Frank Sinatra- I Wont Dance

Bobby Darin- Make Someone Happy

First Dance

Bride & Groomâ€s First Dance

Jason Mraz- Lucky

We still haven't got all our pictures and video yet but I thought I'd share what we do have!  Here are two little video clips:

And some pictures:

We totally did not plan on "trashing the dress" at Las Caletas... while we were taking pictures Brandon accidentally stepped on the back of my dress and we both fell!!  :-)

Just got married at LC a couple of weeks ago...will be posting a full review shortly but wanted to contributed my 2 cents re the DJ.  I thought he does much better when he is given a playlist to work with at least that was my experience.  He is very nice and has a HUGE collection of songs and everything that we asked for he had...even on the fly.  Wishing I was in LC right now....

Thanks Carolina and everyone for the input on the DJ, it's really helpful. Even though my wedding is still a few months out, it's those kind of "little things" I want to cross off the list and not worry about at the last minute.

hi brooklyn carolina, I know you were married on the 13th? I remember because I am the 14th of 2012. Cannot wait to see your pics. Knowing you are a fellow New Yorker I am interested in your review.  I am just starting my planning. Hope it was wondeful, and congratulations to you and your hubby.
