Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

Recommended Posts

Hello!! I'm so EXCITED that I found this site!! Finally some REAL honest opinions and hints! So here is my intro (don't laugh):

I live in California and I am still in graduate school. My boyfriend is a police officer and he lives an hour and a half from me. I only get Saturday-Sunday's off and of course he works graveyard shift thursday-monday. Basically, we see little of each other (we dated for 4 years in college, so our whole relationship has not been long distance). I graduate in September and CAN NOT wait to move closer to him; however due to my Christian faith and personal preference I will not live with him until we are married. So it is pretty imperative that we get married sometime in the end of September-November. I just think it would be perfect if I graduate, my lease ended here, we got married, and then we moved in together. However, September is sneaking up reaaaalllly quick on me and he actually hasnt proposed to me yet. We have picked out rings, I have been sized, we've talked about a guest list, reception/ceremony ideas, but he just hasnt actually asked me to marry him yet.

Regardless, because September is only 9 months away, I am partially looking around and getting ideas.

One night at dinner he suggested a cruise ship wedding because then we could get married on the first island and then have our reception be on the two islands following. So I looked into it and there is a cruise ship that leaves from Long Beach, stops in Puerto Vallarta first, then Cabo, then Matazlan.

So I started to look into wedding sites in PV and found Las Caletas! I most likely WILL NOT be visiting the site before the wedding so I am especially interested in seeing pictures OF the venue. I have looked through everyone's wedding albums and they are BEAUTIFUL but does anyone have any pictures OF the island or the grounds??

Also - has anyone done a cruise and gotten married and had to get back onto the cruise ship? Does the time constraint work out?

ANY pictures will help!!

thanks so much!!!

Welcome!! September is indeed coming up soon...exciting and scary!!! Have you read through the old LC thread? It has a ton of information on it. I read through it when I first joined and while it took awhile... it gave me a ton of information on the site, timing etc. Good luck and happy planning!!

First of all, WELCOME!

I am the one that keeps a master list of the Caletas weddings, and only have Jaime+Brandon written down as someone that's doing a cruise. They are getting married in Oct. of 2010 though, but I'm sure you could ask some questions! Also, Ms. Havasu might also be doing a cruise + Caletas.

What I'd suggest is doing a search in the "original" LC thread (there is a link to it in the first post of this thread, at the bottom) for "cruise" to see anyone else that may have done a cruise wedding at Caletas.

Also, there are some links to pictures in the first post as well - there are TONS more out there, but I'm trying to gather them all in this one thread! You could search thread titles for "Caletas" in this sub-forum, as well as the wedding reviews sub-forum and probably find some more.

Good luck!

Wow, I was shocked to realize that my wedding is less than four months away! Where does the time go?

For any of you that hired any of the live musicians, I would like to hear what you thought and if you think it is worth the money? We are considering either the trio or the solo guitarist but it is pretty pricey.

I did the boat ride last week and it was smooth. The rough part was the docking but that was only a few minutes.....

Im starting to freak out and have those pre-wedding nightmares..the most recent was i got on the boat and there was some random infection that broke out and everyones nose started bleeding but i was more concerned at the fact I forgot my Ipod and I had no music for the reception!

No photographer booked yet? Are you deciding between some?

I booked Nathan Cordova license to Still - not sure if you have heard of (or are consindering) him but I got to meet him when I was home for Christmas in Portland and he is wonderful.

Just a suggestion in case you are still looking
