Are you guys doing any of the extras like a cigar bar or tequila tasting bar?

Hi!  Time is flying by!  What color are your dresses?  Our colors are mint and coral so the girls are wearing long mint dresses for the ceremony and short coral ones for the reception (I'm changing too :)  We decided to do the cigar bar as my fiancé and father-in-law love to share a cigar.  We were going to also do tequila bar but opted for wish lanterns, s'mores bar  and fire dancers.  It's becoming quite a production, lol.  Our guests will be very busy. ;)

Oh that sounds like an amazing night! We thought about doing the s'mores bar too, but unsure if its too much, as we also want to do the sky lanterns.  We are definitely doing the fire dancers with drummers.  My FI is a drummer, and thought that would be a great addition! There's just so much, hopefully we can fit it all in!

The girls will be in long fuschia dresses with silver sandals. I love the idea that you and your girls are doing dress changes! Cant wait to see the pictures! :)

LOVE the sky lanterns, don't you!?  It will be such an amazing experience to share with our guests.  Hopefully with the extra hour we will have enough time! :)   Adding the drummers because of the connection to your FI is a great idea.  Personal touches are what makes a wedding special.  I'm sure your girls dresses will be beautiful and look so forward to seeing your pictures too!

Hi ladies!

Has anyone worn their hair down at Las Caletas?  I would really like to and am planning to wear my hair 1/2 up, but many of you have warned against it because of the humidity. If you did wear it down or 1/2 up, how long did the style hold?  Just trying to get some feedback so I can start researching other styles if necessary.  Thanks!!

Hey! You looked amazing!!! How were the wedges walking down the aisle? I definitely think in going to go the wedges route but want to make sure the ground/aisle is relatively stable enough to do that! I also saw on another post you had written about working out the group rates at the hotel...do you know if we are able to negotiate the rates a all? I haven't landed on which resort we are staying at yet, but would love any tips you can give!!

Wedges were pretty easy to walk in, I actually wore them all night.  The dance floor is covered in a thick twine/burlap so it is not very comfortable to dance barefoot on (sober that is).

Here is what I did to work for my rates.  I went on the website, saw what rates were going for and then I emailed a bunch of resorts to see what rates they would give me for booking 20 rooms. After the initial email, I  saw what specials, if any they were running, and asked if they could match (if a good deal) or beat the prices listed.  A few were staunch and would not budge but the resort we chose significantly beat the published rates.  We also locked in a free room for every 10 rooms booked.  We ended up booking 40 rooms and got 4 free rooms this way.  A heads up though, you will have to sign a contract and you will need to front a deposit/money.  This made it a bit stressful since we essentially were responsible for 40k of hotel rooms.

Hi poorplaces!

I can't speak from experience yet, but I have read in previous posts that some girls gave their WC a little something extra along with their hair/makeup team. I'm not sure what I will be doing yet, but it is definitely something to think about!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
