the photog. was the first thing i did, but we didn't use one through LC. as for teh actual details that LC provides (decor, ceremony, etc.) that we finalized just a couple week before teh wedding. but my whole timeline was shorter than most i think - i booked LC in Nov. 2006 and married in June 2007.

Any insight is much appreciated.

I used the DJ that Kelley set up and I am a huge fan. He was very professional and had lots of fun dance music. I brought all of my wedding music on a CD (processional, recessional, first dance, and some fun songs I just had to have) and he filled in the rest. My girlfriend and nephew each had songs on their ipods and he was able to play those. It was a bit pricey, (I think around $500) but to me it was worth it not to have to cue up music at any point or worry about what songs next....There was one point when I felt it was getting late and hadn't heard a couple key songs....he played them right away and all was well....

Yes, you will still be able to go out early on a Sunday. And you basically get the whole place to yourself since they are not running day trips!!! I'll let you know how it goes after May 2.

I also ended up hiring the DJ at LC for $500 last minute. I sent him a playlist ahead of time, but also put all of the important music on cd's. He had the easiest job all night - just push play. He did great and when I wanted something played out of order, this was no problem.

Also, our holga's went up last night: license to Still

We should have everything back from Nate next week and I'll be sure to share - Trisha

We used the DJ at LC too and for the most part it was totally worth it. My DH did have to remind him to play our playlists a few times though, because he liked to mix in some of his own stuff (which we weren't huge fans of). All in all, it's definitely worth it.

Congrats, Trisha! The pics are gorgeouse; can't wait to see the rest!

I did it!! I finished the old Las Caletas thread front to back! All 1976 posts... And now it is 1am again and I am still awake... Anyhow, thanks to all the previous LC brides for the great posts and information. I am so excited to get my date confirmed and the deposit down.

Quick confirmation from the old post information though - it sounds like you def cannot get legally married at LC but have to do it on the dock before you leave or in PV? Sound right? We weren't going to do a legal here before leaving but I am now thinking we should and save us the trouble of running around for blood tests etc.

whoa that is a lot of posts to read through!

I might be wrong but I think (and check with kelly for sure) there might be a way for you to get legally married there now.

Most though don't want to mess with all the logistics of it (ie: blood samples) and just get married legally at home. you don't even have to tell anyone that if you don't want to...your guests will never know the difference!

I just checked with Kelley and unfortunately they still don't do legal ceremonies on Las Caletas. You have to get married beforehand which they can do, just not at the site. She is going to send me more information about what they offer for the legal side of things.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
