Thanks for the list Ann!
getting married on a sunday kicks ass - LC was totally ours the whole day, it was awesome.

Kelley had those shells that were hanging... check with her she might still have them. I think that Rachel actually left those there from her wedding :)

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa. My fiance, Mark, and I are getting married on Las Caletas November 21, 2010. We are super excited! Our friends and families are staying at dreams puerto vallarta. Mark and I have stayed there before and we loved it! Im glad I found this forum because I will need recommendations for many things...photographer, hair stylist, bands, etc.

OMG! I just received an email from Nicole..She is leaving so now Kelley will be my coordinator..I wish her the best but I really liked working with her.she said she is doing one other wedding in December and thats it. If I was 30 days or so out I think I might have freaked out a little switching coordinators at the last minute but I still have until march so no big deal. I heard all wonderful things about Kelley as well.

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to get on here and say thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been searching this website since I got engaged two months ago looking for THE PLACE. Well, thanks to your reviews of LC I really think I have found it. I am so excited! And best of all, when I showed FI the pics of LC he got excited too. Now to just decide on the date. Right now we are leaning towards Feb 2011 - we are starting to build a house this April so have a busy year ahead. But wow! that seems like a long time to wait... Thanks for all the ideas and discussion - keep it up so I can keep dreaming of my perfect day!

Aww I am glad you found the forum! I too found LC completely through the forum. I fell in love with it right away too and just had to convince my hubby that it was right.

Any questions or anything just ask! Really though, planning a LC wedding is EASY! happy planning!

I am set for Jan. 2011...we set the date almost 3 months ago and I can't believe how fast time files. You will be glad to have over a year to plan and take your time. I know I am. Will be doing my site visit this Jan. 6...can't wait to see LC with my own eyes!

How far in advance did everyone start looking into details for the ceremony? Im 11 months out right now. What should I start with? Im thinking the photographer. Also, does anyone know if I will still be able to go out early the morning of the ceremony if its on a Sunday? I dont think they run day trips on sundays. Thanks! Melissa

Well I booked my day 1 year in advance.

Just sent Kelley an e-mail letting her know we are 2.5 months out and she sent me a questioneer so we can start planning the details.

Questions like:

Where is everyone staying

final head count

color scheme

music choices,

flowers,

cake,

wedding vows etc.

So now the fun begins.

Lets start with Music;

I was thinking of just bringing my Ipod. I started catogorizing songs we like into, Before wedding, during wedding march, right after, and reception(First dance etc.). Does anyone know how the DJ works? does he use your ipod or do you need CD's. Does he have his own music, whats the approx. cost involved. Anyone hire live musicians? what is the cost for that.

Any insight is much appreciated.

Michele

we didn't work out ceremony details with Brad (the minister) until probably 2 weeks before the wedding. there really is no need to do all that so far in advance with him although it would be a good idea between now and then to start finding any special readings, ceremony's etc that you might want to incorporate into your ceremony and set those aside. that way when the time does come to work with the LC minister you are ready and can just pass your ideas right along.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
