Is that Joel or Yamil?

And the flower--is that one you purchased for your hair when you bought your flowers or did you get it from somewhere else?

I am trying to get to the point where I have few expectations--I do about just about everything else, but for my hair and make up, I seem to really care!

Today is the big day!  It is going to be great!

In case people are wondering...Yes, you can go up to the Bridal Casita to change into a second dress.  I did since my dress was a little too long to dance comfortably in all night.  Dennise just took me up there when I told her I was ready to change.  I also am a nursing mother and pumped up there as well so if you have any guests that need to pump or nurse in private, it is available for that.

I will do a review later when I get back!

Hi everyone-

I am considering a wedding at Las Caletas. I love that it's different than a resort wedding--private and the boat ride there are big selling points for me. I'm wondering if anybody who went with Las Caletas considered any other similar locations (is there anything else like it? a non-resort option that has packages like Caletas?), and what made you go with Caletas? It really seems to be the only one of its kind.

We looked at all types of island type settings.  Las Caletas was the best bang for your buck and it was really easy to plan from afar.  Our guests are still gushing about the boat ride, the arrival at the island and everything they experienced there.  I was super happy with Dennise and Blanca and felt super at ease. I didn't bridezilla out once and I am an event coordinator so I thought for sure I would have difficulties relinquishing control.

Hi everyone!  Somewhat new to this forum, and i am still trying to decide between Las Caletas and Martoca.  I am slightly leaning towards Las Caletas because it is a special location for my fi and I, and also the fact that it is a private island is just too unique to pass up.  However, I have some concerns with the size of the reception area.  We are anticipating 60+ guests and it seems like the reception area is quite small and looks like a long corridor, correct me if i'm wrong.  I worry that the tables will be too spread out for everyone to enjoy slideshows, toasts, etc.  Any brides who have had a large party there have any insight on this?  Also, my other concern is that it seems to be very dark at Las Caletas once the sun goes down.  I like the idea of everything being lit by just candles and torches, but I am worried about it being too dark.  In the pictures of Martoca it looked so pretty with all the lanterns and strings of light around the palm trees.  So confused! any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Imah,

We are having 75 guests and this is the set up they sent me.  Table 9 and 10 are not under the roof top and when I did a site visit they were actually on the other side and next to the second buffet that is also not be under the roof top and not seen on the map.  I think it will still look great though.  As for the lighting, we're actually starting an hour early (can only be done on Sundays) to avoid it getting too dark too early for photos...and to add to the party time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
