Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

Recommended Posts

Hi all! First timer, so I hope I'm posting this in the correct spot!! We are getting married in Las Caletas in 2014...loooong ways off, but I'm too excited to wait to ask questions!!! Has anyone used their 'versatile band' instead of the DJ? My fiancé and I love the idea of having a live band, but were hoping to get an idea of what they are like before making a final decision!!

Time sensitive comment--great hotel deal ends on Tuesday!

HI all!
I am sure this is somewhere else on the site, but I have a few pressing questions if anyone can help:

1.  Any thoughts on where to stay/ not to stay the days before the wedding.  We want a nice place but also want semi-affordable so as many guests as possible can stay in the same hotel.

We are looking at the Marriott---getting a great price---any thoughts on that?  It is on the opposite end of the bay from Las Caletas---any problems with that?  BTW, getting a 5 night deal at Marriott, ocean front, in February, WITH flight from Northern California for $1766---if you are interested, I can give you name of travel agent--but must book by TUESDAY!

2.  Any thoughts on where to stay/not to stay for the honeymoon?  We want local (no more than one hour drive), on the beach, and would prefer all-inclusive, adult only, some privacy (not over-run with people and not over-run with vendors selling souvenirs to you while you are lounging on the beach).  Too picky??  Haha!  Oh--and we are in our 40's--don't need the "party" atmosphere.

Thanks for any help or thoughts!

D

HI all,

My latest questions---what are you all doing (or did you do) about children?  I know many guests will bring their children to Mexico since they will turn it into a family vacation.  How do we accommodate them?  Get childcare at hotel?  Get childcare for them at Las Caletas?  I am okay with them coming to the wedding, but I know there will be lots to make the parents nervous--the ocean, bonfire, etc.    I don't want it to stop anyone from coming.  We have one newborn, a few 3 years olds then some 5-10 year olds.  Thanks for any thoughts!

Elli

TIME SENSITIVE--I need to decide today about before-wedding hotel!

HI all!

Sorry if this gets posted twice--but I don't see my first post of these questions...

1.  Where are you and guests staying before the wedding?  We found a good deal at the Marriott but is it too far from Las Caletas (it is at the north end of Banderas Bay, island is at south end).  How much are you and guests paying for your rooms at your hotels?  (Are we allowed to put that?  If so, I am happy to share my info about a great deal at the Marriott).

2.  Honeymoon---where are you/did you all stay?  We are in our 40s so don't need a party atmosphere--would like adults only, on the beach, less than an hour drive, a bit private (not overrun with vendors on the beach approaching you to sell stuff or even overrun with hotel guests).  We are undecided on all-inclusive (because of price.  We don't drink too much---maybe 2 drinks a day--and my fiancee is vegetarian--doesn't eat much).  Any hints?

Thanks Brides!

Elli

PS  Anyone on here getting married around the same time?  Feb 18, 2013?

We're staying at Dreams with our guests.  We needed an all-inclusive as we have a lot of drinkers ;) .  I like & trust the Dreams name, so we booked 20 rooms there.  The day after the wedding, we're leaving Dreams for our Honeymoon at Garza Blanca.  We were immediately taken by Garza Blanca's Honeymoon Suite (but EVERY room in the resort is oceanfront.  From the reviews we've read, the beach is stunning with pure white sand and the restaurants are amazing.) It also has the option to be all-inclusive.  The only things we're not thrilled about is that it's not adults-only and there is no swim up bar, but it is a very high end place that gears towards couples, so don't think kids will be too much of a problem.  After seeing the pictures, there was no where else we could imagine staying.  Here's their website. http://www.garzablancaresort.com/

We first looked into Secrets because we stayed at Secrets in Puerto Morelos last year and loved the level of service, the grounds & the quality of food.  The Secrets in Puerto Vallarta is brand new and beautiful.  All inclusive, adults only and with 5+ restaurants, I'm sure your husband will have no problems finding vegetarian options.  Secrets is beach front and close by. Here is their website.  http://www.secretsresorts.com/vallartabay/index.asp

I'm not really much help in this area because all our guests are leaving their kids at home! The only two coming are our flower girl and ring bearer who are 3 and 5 so old enough to last until 10:30 when the boat leaves (we hope). Maybe that's something you can look into when you decide in a resort, I know some of them offer babysitting services.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
